Task #1 – Top 5

Tigole Bitties Top 5 Meals Before a Playoff Game
1) Spinach salad with chicken and a green smoothie. It’s healthy, high in vegetables and has the protein that comes with the chicken. It’s a good meal for lunch before a game.
2) Linguini with meat sauce and steamed vegetables. Carbo load the night before the game, and get some protein and veggies in there as well.
3) Chipotle for no other reason than taste.
4) Egg white skillet with potatoes and sausage. Load up on protein here boys!
5) Classic roast beef sandwich and paired with a long nap.

Task #2 – Season in Review Interview

Tigole Bitties facing questions during SMJHL Championship Week.

Interview Hi Tigole, thanks for your time today.
You’re welcome. Thanks for having me.
Interview The St. Louis Scarecrows had a tremendous season, although they fell short. What was the biggest reason you fell flat against Colorado in your eyes?
Well I think that their managers had a great system rolling and their lines clicked much better than ours did. It always helps when your goaltender goes into beast mode like Aleksandrov did in Game 7 as well.
Interview You were the first non-defenseman picked in the SMJHL Entry Draft. Were you happy with your performance this season?
Well, St. Louis is an incredibly deep team and I didn’t get as much playing time as some of my fellow draftees. With that said, I was able to lean on a bunch of experienced guys and absorbed as much about the way to carry yourself on and off the ice from them. It’s been a humbling experience, and it’s going to be tough to see them graduate to the SHL next season. That whole process is going to be bittersweet, as it’s never fun to lose teammates, but I’ll have a much larger role with St. Louis next season after my new SHL franchise sends me down.
Interview That’s all we have for today! Thank you again Tigole!
My pleasure.

Task #3 – Goals Play By Play
The puck is carried into the offensive zone by Sophia Bennett. Bennett extends the stick out to her right to keep it on the backhand and out of the defenders reach. She continues her path, deeper, behind the Mammoths goal line, and escapes the defenders behind Aleksandrov’s net. She backhands a pass back around the boards and it’s scooped up by Angelo Odjick.

Odjick receives the puck smoothly and sends the puck back up the boards and onto the stick of Hoid Wit. Wit has the puck now on the right side boards, and walks the blue line, scanning the ice for a shooting lane. Wit sees that there isn’t much going on, and passes it across to his defense partner, Isak Odegard. Odegard fires it back down the left side boards, continuing to grind and wear down the Colorado defenders.

Centerman Robert Phelps has it deep in the left corner now, and looks to force a play out front, but Finn Kruger gets a stick on the puck and deflects it back to the corner. Phelps sends the puck back over to Sophia Bennett… Bennett in the right corner fires the puck over to Odjick! Odjick tries a quick wrister on the Mammoths net, but it’s blocked right back to him. He collects it quickly and backhands the pass over to Hoid Wit.

Hoid Wit absolutely tees off a howitzer of a one-timer! Before you can blink, it’s tickled the twice over Aleksandrov’s pad, and the Whalers have done it! They’ve won the Four Star Cup in Overtime! What a comeback victory!

Task #4 – Playoff MVP
My case for Playoff MVP is no different than Regular Season MVP for this season of the SMJHL. He’s the man between Vancouver’s pipes, and is already more of a household name in the Province of British Columbia than Corey Schneider or Roberto Luongo ever were. It’s Carrick Murray. Carrick Murray guided the Whalers to an absolutely dominant SMJHL Four Star Cup run, only losing one time in their nine game run to the Cup. That’s absolutely clutch in every sense of the word.
He boasts an impressive 2.37 Goals Against Average for the playoffs, which in the SMJHL is incredibly stingy. His save percentage neared .900, which is also not bad whatsoever for a team battling for a Cup. Because of his historic run in the regular season and pairing it with his success at backstopping the Vancouver Whalers to a Four Star Cup, he’s my pick for Playoff MVP.
