TASK FOUR: Who is your choice for the S35 Playoff MVP to this point? Must be 150 words.
Andrey Barbashev of the Toronto North Stars is my playoff MVP so far. The veteran, who is in his final season, is playing the best hockey of his career, looking for that elusive Challenge Cup. The defenseman, who used to be an elite centerman, is showing off his offensive skills, putting up a remarkable 14 points in only 10 games, the highest points per game in the entire league. He's getting it done in his own end as well, with 24 shot blocks, good for 3rd in the league. Playing 30 minutes a game, Barbashev, along with teammate Cynthia Taylor, have been integral to Toronto's defense. He has also been clutch, with an especially noteworthy performance in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals where he scored two goals and an assist to help Toronto comeback from a 3-1 deficit and send the team to the Finals for the first time in forever.

Obviously it would have been nice to have made the finals earlier in my career, but this long wait had made this Finals appearance a more significant accomplishment for myself and the North Stars franchise.

It would mean everything to finally bring a cup to Toronto. This team and this city has gone 35 seasons without a championship. As captain, the possibility of being the first ever North Stars player to raise the cup would be a honor. It's something I've dreamed about ever since I was drafted back in S20.

Our offense has also been great this post-season, knocking off top defensive teams in the Platoon and the Wolfpack. I think the key to this offense has been our powerplay. It's among the top in the league, and has been operating at nearly a 25% rate. More importantly, it's come up big in crucial moments, and that has to continue in order to beat the Admirals.

My ability to put pucks on net has been instrumental in my success this post-season. I lead Toronto in shots, and that has created many scoring chances for myself and my teammates. On the other hand, my defensive play has been subpar so far, as eveidenced by my negative plus-minus. To improve, I just need to hustle more and be willing to go to the dirty areas and block shots.

Winning the cup would mean everything to me. It's been my goal since day 1 to bring end Toronto's curse. It's the same with other veterans as well. Toki has been with the team just as long as I have, and Barbs and Harter are long-time North Stars as well.

I'm getting up there in age, but I still feel that I can be a elite player in the SHL. Even this season, I was producing at a point per game pace through 32/33 games. I hit a wall hard to end the season, but I've shown in the playoffs that I can still handle the rigors of the SHL schedule. It was only two seasons ago that I put up 17 points in 11 games against the Platoon and the Wolfpack, the same two teams we faced first this season, so I knew I had it in me to turn it up for the playoffs.

That's probably because I'm signed in as an anonymous user. Accidentally hit that button one day and I can't be bothered to log out and back in to change that. As for Eriksson, I'm aiming to retire around S40/S41, which I think is when I'll drop below 1000 TPE for good.
