Task #1

Top Five Points per 20 Minutes after 4

1. Dani Forsberg - 2.03 p/20

Forsberg was the main threat to the SMJHL coming out of Prince George this year. Sure, give Artom Zhumbayev due credit, but Forsberg was the poster boy, having won the goal-scoring race. Forsberg would end the playoffs second in points per 20 in what very well may be his last game as a Firebird. Forsberg contributed two goals and seven assists for nine points at the end of it all.

2. Dionýz Vyskoč - 1.79 p/20

What can I say, it runs in my blood. Marek Vyskoč already had a reputation for being a playoff beast and Dionýz would see similar results as his father, except that he totally bombed in the regular season and didn't win the cup, but all's well that ends well I suppose. Two goals, five assists for seven points.

3. Xander Green - 1.31 p/20

The Firebirds' first line was red hot after four games, but it wasn't enough to hold the team off from elimination. Regardless, Green was a big part of this on the line, being the second veteran and centre. He kept on track and managed two goals and four assists for six points.

4. Elias Lindstrom - 1.24 p/20

The only non-Firebird on the list. Weird, huh? Now why would that be. I totally didn't choose the one category and period we dominated, did I? Nah, just luck. But, interestingly enough, Lindstrom was on another team that wouldn't make it out of the first round. They just don't appreciate us man. Elias would go on to get three goals and three assists for six points in a seven game series.

5. Smirnov Light Jr. - 1.24 p/20

Back to the Firebirds and my former line-mate, centering the second line is the beer. Smirnov would get the same amount of points as myself, but in more style, as he earned four of them on the power-play (which is something we really needed to work on from the regular season). Just another testament to Firebird resilience, #FirebirdStrong.

Task #2

Day 12 of the playoffs - Just after Game 23, the sixth and deciding game in the series Between the Prince George Firebirds and Colorado Mammoths

A sweaty Dionýz Vyskoč stands, and then decides to sit in his dressing cubicle after having removed his gear, prior to talking with reporters about the night's game.

"What went wrong out there" asks a locker room regular and official Firebird reporter,
"You watched the game too, why don't you answer that yourself?" Dio quips quickly,
"Alright, how about this one: 'how do you feel you did tonight?"
"I can give that one a little consideration: we were on fire, the first line that is, until the past couple games, and what you just witnessed was more of that: us falling short."
"You guys had six power-plays out there and only capitalized on one, anything you guys can come back to next year to fix that?" asks a younger looking reporter, perhaps just trying to impress
"Oh come one, most of these guys will be gone next year and we'll have fresh faces amongst us, do you think I'm really thinking how we'll grow from this next season? If I did that I'd be in an asylum already."
"I heard your father watched the series, have you guys spoken much about the playoffs and have any comparison's been made?" asks an older, sad looking fellow whom is Dio's favorite
"Oh yeah, there was a lot of joking going on between friends and family that it's in our blood. I didn't nearly get as many points nor as much success, but after all that I'm, glad the series wasn't noncompetitive. Speaking of my dad, I need to make a call, will you guys excuse me . . ."

Dio didn't actually need to make a call, he just wanted to get out of there. He usually comes up with more extravagant excuses, but tonight's a team and family night, and he has people to see and things to do before next season.

Task #4

In the same style as I've done in my actual voting, my playoff most valuable player candidate will be the one with the most "Star of The Game Points" (100 for 1st, 10 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd) as a percentage of their team. Now, Elias Lindstrom technically had the best as percent, equaling about 50%,but I will force myself to chose from the final two teams. It was very close, but Shoyu Kikkoman just barely edged out Finn Larsson at 38.75% versus 38.5%. However, here is some more physical statistic evidence to support Shoyu: he came second in the scoring race, but had an incredible eight less games than Vratislav Zbyněk and only had one less point as a D-man! A few more accolades follow: 2nd in assists, 2nd in shooting %, top scoring defencemen and highest points per twenty minutes. Efficient, skilled, deadly. Shoyu Kikkoman is my MVP.
