McFadden Ranks teams
#1

With the recent rumours coming out of Seattle, that Michael McFadden may be a part of the fire sale happening in Seattle, we got a chance to sit with him and have him talk to us about which teams he would prefer playing on if Seattle decided to trade him away. Take a look at what he said!

---Not Interested---

13) The Edmonton Blizzard Blizzard

The Edmonton Blizzard do not have a good team... So why would I want to go there, when I'm already on a team that is losing more than winning? Might as well stay put. I don't feel as though they have much to look forward too, they need to add some youngsters and wait for them to mature and really take over before they'll be competitive again.

I am not sure who their GMs are, they seem like stand up dudes but I really have no knowledge of who they are. There's also just a couple guys I know on the entire team, and they all seem pretty semi-active. So it's not really an attractive destination for now.

Armin's time in Edmonton was short lived, and it was pretty un-eventful. A quiet team, that used to know how to win. These days, they're probably just a quiet team that will have to deal with losing.

]Final Verdict: At this point, I am not going to waive my NTC for Edmonton.

12) The Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks

When considering which team I want to join, there are a few main factors. One of them being, their overall competitiveness and ability to contend for a cup. This is the main problem here, as Hamilton seems to be the only team worse off than Seattle right now. Although their future looks bright, I would rather sit through a rebuild with my team, than to switch and sit through one with another team.

GMs are doing all right, Hallsy and I were buds a while back in Winnipeg, although his weirdness is always something a bit hard to tolerate, he's been doing a good job at representing his team as a mature leader, for the most part Wink. I think he is doing a good job with his team, being extremely patient, something I just cannot be.

The 3rd important factor on where I would like to play, Hamilton is actually one of the better teams for, and that's playing time. I don't see much of a goaltender there, and I know I would solve that issue for them for the next 15 + seasons.

Smaller factors include their teammates, which seem like a good bunch and Armin's time there. Armin loved his time in Hamilton, but things were much much different back then.

Final Verdict: I would only waive my NTC to come here after a long talk with Hallsy, explaining to me why I am wrong about how long it will take them to be competitive again. If he can prove to me that they will be competitive soon, I would bump these guys up the list quick.

11) The Minnesota Chiefs Chiefs

The Chiefs do not seem to have a very competitive team yet again. They’ve got some star players but their depth hasn’t been enough to get them in a competitive spot yet again this season. They are probably closer to winning a cup than Seattle is, but if they can’t rebound soon they may need to rebuild again when Garbonzo and company hang them up.

The biggest issue with Minnesota is they have the only goalie on paper who is as good as McFadden, and even a few TPE better. No other goalie is maxed out besides us two, and he’s been with the Chiefs for so long, why would they replace him with me, unless he were to retire soon?

Armin’s time in Minny was hectic, the team was in full on buying mode and then full on fire sale within a season, and although I was on a team with a bunch of cool dudes, it didn’t feel like home.

Final Verdict: If Anderson were to retire and a second look at their team would prove to be interesting, then I would waive my NTC.

—- Would consider—-

10) The Buffalo Stampede Stampede

I just never really liked the look of the Stampede. I also do not like the way they have built their team since expansion. It’s taking way too long to generate a quality contender, and that has me questioning the management. They seem to be feeling the pressure too, going and buying all those oldies.

However, those oldies mainly came from Seattle, and I would love to be on a team with them again. So if Buffalo ever decided to replace their founder, Brandon, I would consider it.

Armin played in Buffalo near the beginning and it was pretty inactive, so its tough to compare that to a team that’s been around for a while now.

Final Verdict: I do not want to split time, so if they want me as starter, I would consider the move.

9) The Manhattan Rage Rage

The Rage are such a strange team, they go from a cup finals to not making the playoffs, a cup win to not making the playoffs. Like does this team really have what it takes or are they just hot at the right time? They’ve got the simmer on their team, you always want the simmer on your team, and he’s a goalie, so even if JayWhy’s goalie isn’t near McFadden’s TPE level, I doubt they would want to lose the simmer.

Armin’s time here was awesome, my only cup in the SHL was with the Rage and they will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Final Verdict: If they’d be up for an Aitto for McFadden trade, I would waive to come to Manhattan, as long as im starter.

8) The Texas Renegades:

Man even Greg Pel is over 1000 TPE now, it seems like every team besides Hamilton has a solid goaltender. This makes it tough to move to Texas, as they seem to have their starter. If they were looking to improve their guy however, I would come.

Armin’s time in Texas was extremely short, there wasn't a whole lot of people in Texas Armin got along with so he made sure to make his time quick.

Final Verdict: Would consider a move here if I would be the starter.

—- Willing to move here —-

7) The West Kendall Platoon Platoon

The Platoon are a pretty cool team, not gonna lie. They seem to be pretty active and have a good crowd there. They have been well managed for a while now, and their goalie is older than me, with over 400 TPE less than me, so it would be advantageous for them to make a move to improve their goaltending situation, and ink a guy who will be able to give them a chance to win for a very long time.

When Armin was in West Kendall, they didn’t have the team they had today. It was a weak team, however, I enjoyed my time there and performed really well.

Final Verdict: would waive NTC

6) The New England Wolfpack Wolfpack

The Wolfpack seem to have all the answers, they’ve got a great looking team, extremely competitive and great management. Unfortunately they’ve already got a great goalie, and probably wont want to change.

Armin loved his time here, and im sure I would again.

Final verdict: Would love to join, if Laukkanen wasn’t already their man

5) The Winnipeg Jets Jets

Leafs may not be the GM anymore, but I have a lot of respect for the new GMs in town. Winnipeg is looking pretty solid for the coming season, their only real weakness is in goal, where Berger has been quiet in the sim, and is below 1200 TPE despite being S27 and entering regression soon. If Winnipeg want a goalie who can battle regression with great work ethic and a ton of TPE already banked, they might be interested in making the move for McFadden.

Armin enjoyed many amazing seasons with Winnipeg, the team that drafted him 1st overall, has a ton of respect from me. I would love to be back on this team.

Verdict: Would love to join and help the team for a long time

4) The Portland Admirals :admirals:

The hottest team around these days. Most people would love to be on the Admirals, simply because their shit is real. They've got a ton of solid young guys and they’re already a heavyweight right now.

Too bad they got Wally as a GM and goaltender.

Armin came here when they were expansion, cant really judge.

Verdict: Would love to be a part of the long term dynasty, if Wally would just retire and go be another position or something.

—- Very interested —-

3) The Los Angeles Panthers Panthers

One of the top team I loved playing for when I was with Armin was the Los Angeles Panthers. Mainly because of their GMs. Wasty is in my opinion one of the best GMs in the league, maybe the best. I would love to play for him again and I would love to join a super active looking team that has a ton of potential to do damage.

Haas seems to be the man here though, would be tough to get them to replace him.

Final Verdict: Do it

2) The Toronto North Stars Stars

Its no secret that I have always had great ties with the Toronto team. It was the very first team I was involved in management with at the SHL level, and it was some of the best days I’ve had in the SHL. I was there with Michael Abdalla as a player under Krever, and I was there with Armin under JNH. Maybe, if they’ll have me, I can be under Cynthia with McFadden.

Final Verdict: YES

The Calgary Dragons Dragons

There are so many reason why I would love being a Dragon. 1 Esa is the only GM I think can give Wasty a run for his money. 2 They are always a threat to win, and they’ve done so with a sub-par goalie. 3) Wong needs replacing, and the other 2 in town are pretty young. I know I don’t plan on retiring anytime soon, Id even say I’d be competitive longer than their youngest and most promising goalie. 4 when I did the tour of the league, Armin never found a spot with Calgary, and it hurts till this day to know there’s just one team I never played with. So lets finish it right

Final Verdict: 100% would move today
