... Winston Windsor.
Since joining Texas, Windsor has been an average defenseman who has been able to put up acceptable stats primarily by relying upon his more talented linemates. Negotiations were long and hard, but after weeks of discussion, it was decided that Windsor is at least still good enough to sign for a minimum contract. In seriousness, this season was probably one of Windsor's best. Although his point production has been better in other years with Edmonton and Minnesota, he played a good campaign defensively and, for once, led the team in plus/minus. There's no doubting that he's in the twilight of his career, but while he can still provide Texas with needed depth on defense, he will. Although I had intended to hit free agency this or next off-season, to finally get to play out free agency for the first time since joining the league, Texas has been a great place to play and I'm happy to postpone any retirement tour plans a few seasons longer to extend my stay here. S37 - $4,000,000* S38 - $4,000,000* * This contract includes a limited No Trade Clause. If the team decides to make a trade, the player is allowed to list up to two teams that he will not accept a trade to. Allen told me to talk myself up, I did my best. |
