Lizzy Jukka was the Vancouver Whalers saviour of the game tonight, as she scored 45 seconds into the overtime period to secure the win for her team. Artom Zhumbayev was more than likely overworked by facing 26 shots to this point to the evening. Indesvara Magar hit Lizzy with a pass as she streaked through the neutral zone and into the Prince George zone. She blew by Prince George defencemen and was one on one with Zhumbayev. She went forehand and the Firebirds goaltender bought it! He slides to cover the net before Jukka pulls it to her backhand and absolutely roofs it on Artom Zhumayev, ending the Firebirds hopes of winning this game only 45 seconds into the Overtime Period.
