As an aside the index for the game direct links doesn't seem to be working so I'm creating my own narrative here with 0 statistics other than the score. I really don't know how much of this is true.

The most important game for the Winnipeg Jets up to this point in the season was Game 5 against the Seattle Riot. A little backstory first, the Jets were a highly regarded regular season team, but people were unsure of how their regular season exploits would translate under the bright lights of the playoffs. So far so good in round 1 with a sweep of the overmatched Renegade, a real surprise considering they were the returning champions. The second round started off in similar fashion against the Riot with the first two games being taken by Winnipeg. However, the Riot stormed back with two close wins to tie up the series. These were the questions the people wanted to be answered; How would they respond to two consecutive losses, has the Jets strategy been figured out? Well, the Jets turned on the jets (good pun) and rose to the challenge to show why they belonged here. They beat the Riot 4-2 and proved to the doubters that they can come back from adversity and fight with grit.

TASK TWO: Who is your choice for the unsung hero of the S37 playoffs up to this point? Must be at least 150 words and include at least two statistics in support.

My unsung hero is Alek Koivu who may not have played many minutes for Winnipeg Jets but gave them the boost they needed to win the championship. He plays defense for Winnipeg and was top 14 in points per twenty minutes with 0.873 but was bottom five in average minutes per game with 14. The man scored two goals with nine assists for a total of 11 points in 18 games. He finished with double-digit shot blocks and only 4 PIM. More reasons to appreciate his efficiency, he had a 22.22% shooting percentage, which was top 3 in the playoffs. He also finished the playoffs with a +/- of 16, a really high number signifying the boost he gave the team in the few minutes he was given. I think this is the definition of an unsung hero, a man who wasn't on the ice for as many minutes as the stars but provided a valuable boost when called upon.
