It’s been a rough start to the season for Colorado Mammoth center, Doc DiGreasi. It’s been 11 games and DiGreasi has been held off the scoresheet completely. His only stats show a -7 +/-, tied for the worst on the team, and 11 shots on goal. The rookie isn’t seeing much ice time, only 9.09 minutes per game, the lowest of any Colorado forward. DiGreasi has said that this isn’t the start that he envisioned but he is willing to put in the extra effort to get his game on track. Having watched most of his games it’s easy to see what he needs to work on. DiGreasi has below average skating, scoring, and puck handling for the SMJHL and it needs to be worked on. DeGreasi was touted to be a more defensive-minded Geronimo Otto, who currently leads all SHL forwards in assists in 11 games played. The German superstar has been a model that DiGreasi wants to follow, with his strengths being having passing, skating, and puck handling all over 90. As the season goes on the Mammoth will look towards DiGreasi to fill out into a solid bottom 6 player to help support their top six stars, Nico Gross, who leads the team with 11 points in 11 games, and Dean Youngblood, who has 9 points in 11 games.
