One day, Jake Forke aspires to be as great as legendary Buffalo Stampede defenseman Alexis Metzler

With stats including a staggering 99 in passing (pretty much as good as can be measured) and 90 in scoring, the veteran dominated the blue line for many seasons. Even with such silky mitts, Metzler's defensive game was never neglected, nor was his endurance, allowing him to easily swallow big minutes in critical games. In fact, he is an incredibly well-rounded player, in every category, all over the ice.

Meanwhile, Forke is working hard to match such a legend. Currently, his strength is in his scoring shot, measuring at about 71, although he's always pushing to improve. Just like his idol he's focusing heavily on his passing game, (64) although he knows he has a long way to go. In terms of pure defense, Jake has allowed his offensive game to take precedence to some degree, although discussions with the Detroit Falcons coaching staff have left him determined to improve in that regard. Personally, although his team is top of the table in this early stage of the season, he is unhappy that he is recording a team-low +/- (although he acknowledges that it’s a pretty meaningless statistic anyway).

For now, Jake Forke continues to hone his craft in the minor leagues, working his hardest to make himself an attractive prospect both in the SHL and at the international level too.
