The Vancouver Whalers playoff run was cut extremely short as they were benched in just 4 games at the hand of the St. Louis Scarecrows. Vancouver struggled to put together actual plays, nothing really seemed to "click" for the boys in blue and green after the regular season, or maybe St. Louis just had the Whalers' number. Regardless, the Whalers only mustered 11 goals to the Scarecrows' 19 goals scored. Vancouver's top shot was Dude Love with 4 points, one point per game. Six players followed Love with 3 points a piece. SOme of these names included two rookies, Ostap Maksimov and Guts O'Bigbers who really stepped up in the playoffs for Vancouver.

Let's look at a game by game breakdown of the Whaler's downfall. Game One saw the crows win 5 goals to 3, where Paddy O'Sullivan broke out immeditiley with a hat trick! It was tough for Vancouver to come back and win the game with Paddy so hot! Game two however was a bit closer, as this time the Crows only won by just a goal, final result was 4-3. In this game, surprisingly two Whalers were named stars of the game, Woodcroft and Jukka despite a loss. Games three and four were left dominated by St. Louis with a 3-1 loss and 7-4 loss wiping out the Vancouver Whalers team for good in Season 38.
