In the SBA if you declare for the draft after your first season of college you get an instant 100 TPE boost to help make up for the gap in earning that you suffer from not capping your college career before uncapping and going all out for your draft. Usually it means the person who declares early is still a bit behind, but it helps make up the difference for people uninterested in the college side of things.

That being said, it would probably be a bit of a mess in the SHL where you can remain on your junior team after being drafted and where regression is decided by your creation date and not the date you officially become an SHL rookie.

I personally think it's fine as it is and doesn't need to be changed, but there are workarounds to try to balance things if we really want.
