Good point, how about making a lottery for a series. Everyone who wants a shot puts their name in, the lottery decides which order you are offered a pbp. If you win and can’t do it at that time then it goes to the next person on the list and you don’t lose your spot, so you get offered the next one. If you do a PbP then you are put at the bottom of the list

I did concider it when i was PBP director as well, but it's become a back and forth between the users and create lenght that dont need to exist. If i am expecting X person to do the PBP, i try to contact them, then 5h later they tell me they can't, well i have to pass to the other one, then if the other one also can't i need to keep going down that list and the user actually dont really know when they do the pbp cause it depend how much time it reaches you. It could take a lot of time to finally be able to reach someone to do the pbp. Sure it's one of the worst case scenario, but the fact the director couldnt try to reach multiple people at the time to back up create lenght.

Also, it's a lot much more complicated for every party cause you could be contacted at any time while right now, you know ahead what time to expect your pbp to be.
