PT 3 - Sizing Up the Competition
#10

SMJHL Head-to-head

Whalers D - Geoff Moore 14th Overall draft pick
Militia D - Charlie Schieck, 1st Overall draft pick

Offensive categories

Moore: 3G 9A 12P -2
Schieck 1G 9A 10P -7

So far both Defensemen have played 25 games in the SMJHL and their offensive production is fairly identical aside from Moore having potted 2 more goals and having a better +/-. I'd say this these players are pretty much even here with a slight edge to Moore with his goal-scoring.

Special teams

Moore: 70 PPM 11 PKM
Schieck: 66 PPM 51 PKM

Charlie Schieck has received slightly less time on the Powerplay but 40 minutes more on the Penatly Kill, showing his coaching staff trusts him in all situations, while Moore seems to be getting more time in the offensive zone. Schieck definitely takes it in this category.

Physical play

Moore: 24 Hits, 19 Hits taken, 16 Shots blocked
Schieck: 12 Hits, 24 Hits taken, 38 Shots blocked

Moore has thrown twice the amount of hits compared to Schieck and has also taken less hits. Shots blocked definitely go to Charlie Schieck, showing that he's not afraid to get in the line of fire with 38 shots blocked already this season. I'm going to say both player are even here, but depending on who you ask, i think both players have solid arguments on who might take the edge in this category.

So who wins?

Everyone wins here, Montreal and Vancouver both got good young defensemen who can bring offense and play in all situations. As far as we know here, the players do not have any sort of beef between them and everything you might hear is just a Reddit circlejerk.
