After a crazy day at the draft I am so proud to say that my brother and I are Halifax Raiders. I know I felt so honored when I heard my brother’s name get called. To hear my name get called immediately after his was just the icing on the cake. It was a quick turnaround from the draft my brother and I found ourselves in Halifax with Kingsy, Crush, Dersy, Maxi, FO, Snipy, Tomi and Nate. Archer quickly handed out the chicken parms and told us what to expect. Our rebuild, our vision and what he expects.
The biggest bromance on the team is clearly the Kovacs brothers and it isn’t even close! One thing I noticed right away is Kingsy is a born leader. I heard about him pre-draft but being here with him, he really has taken on that role. Just little things like pregame chats, and checkups you know he’s looking out for his teammates on and off the ice. The big thing about our group is we have a locker room of young and eager guys with a lot of enthusiasm. We got some good conversations in with alum like Shane, he gave us the rundown and even some OTR stuff about Archer. The biggest surprise is how vocal everyone is. Constant updates and reminders about each other, vocal in the showers, on the ice. We are all talking and communicating on unprecedented levels. We believe going forward this high level of communication will propel us to the best locker room in the league. Shout out to Shoot McGavin our only vet and dad. We hope he stays with us, praise Shooter! That’s all for now can’t wait to learn more and get Halifax a trophy!
