Doing this just because I figured I should do something. Welcome to the Big Manius farewell presser after: 18 seasons 902 regular season games consisting of 185 goals 385 assist, 1222 SB, 1414 PIMS, 2252 hits and was a +123. In addition to his 2 challenge cups, 11 playoff appearances, 2-2nd All-Star Teams, a Turd Ferguson Award, an Aidan Richen Trophy, one Scott Stevens Nomination, one Four Star Cup, 7 IIHF metals and one IIHF Top Defenseman award in a pear tree. So ask ‘em if you got ‘em. 08-14-2018, 09:31 PMluketd Wrote: Any regrets?I regret that I never won a Steven’s and only managed one Steven’s nomination. 08-14-2018, 10:10 PMSamee Wrote: damn that career.Beating the West Kendall Platoon in season 25 for my first Challenge Cup. That felt good, and made for a few weeks of very entertaining Big Slappy Hours. Quote:whats the worst memory of your career?Probably season 39. I had a miserable season and was only able to muster a sixteen-point season after my 45-point season 38. That is the season that I realized that I might be getting old. 08-14-2018, 10:20 PMSlappydoodle Wrote: Who have been some of your biggest influences, as far as sim knowledge and player build, during your time in the SHL?Way to put me on the spot and setting me up for forgetting somebody. Well obvisiusly when I first joined the league @Steelhead77 had a plenty of good advice on building Manius although after I was draft by a western conference rival he shut the fuck up. @leaf4ever and @JackCross offer a little bit of advice when first stating off my Jet career. Although primarily I more looked at players that were putting the kind of numbers that I want wanted to Manius to put up. During the twilight of Manuis career, I allow jet management ( @haz ) to have heavy input into his build to maximize the line chemistry. Quote:Who, of the people you’ve met on the site, stand out as the nicest, the funniest etc? Again thanks for putting me on the spot and setting me up for forgetting somebody. That guy slappy is clearly a dick. I few stand out users in my mind in no particular order, Pris, slappy, toedragon Ztevens, Nereus, Atlas, Gcool, Bojo, flappy, Elyk, haz, alex mack, Steelhead77, 701, leafs, and I am stopping there and know that I have left people out. I do not want this to become the 100 favorite users of my time. Quote:What are Manius’ plans for his retirement? Is coaching or something similar in the cards, or will he go and live in the trees with a colony of chimpanzees?Drink beer and get a color commentator job on SHL night in Canada on some other such broadcast. Quote:If you added up all the back hair shaved off of Manius over the course of his career by various rookies, would you have enough to knit a nice sweater for a rhinoceros? No it was actually knitted into a fine jacket. 08-15-2018, 04:46 PMMike Izzy Wrote: 1. Big manius was not only a great SHL player but he also was a media celebrity co hosting a weekly pod.. should the hall consider your amazing work in media when looking over your hall of fame criteria?Absolutely not, the Hall of Fame needs to be based on player stats and should be award to the player not the user. Should there be a user Hall of Fame award for users that have made amazing contributions to the site that should be recognized outside of player development. Maybe, but I have no idea how you would set that up. Quote:2. What are some of the things you want to accomplish with lil Manius that you werent able to with his bigger counterpart? Not to miss a championship week this time. But other than that I am looking at them as different goals with Lil’ being a forward and Big being a defenseman. Maybe be a first team all-star this time. 08-23-2018, 10:04 PMSteelhead77 Wrote: Congrats on an awesome career my friend! I do not if it is career highlight. I mean was a career highlight for Darren McCarty to turtle Lemieux. Clearly that fight is the best analogy. I removed it when I recreated to focus more on Lil’ Manius. Oh, it happened and it was just as funny as Lemieux’s turtle. Quote: You played with a lot of D partners over the years in WPG, who do you think you worked the best with? That would probably be a toss up Rembrandt Q. Einstein and Scott Robertson. I was able to rack up some good number play with them. Quote: Who are some WPG players that you think came in and had the biggest impact in the locker room over the years?Six names come to mind. Evans, Visser, Flemming, Einstein, McDavid and Onoprienko. Quote: Who was your favorite roommate on the road?I was always a little to Scott Robertson. Scott was great player to be on the road with. He was constantly coming up with deep philosophical questions and thoughts. Yes, Robertson is a deep person. Quote: What do you want to say to the fans in Winnipeg? Specifically all the women wearing XXL Manius jerseys? Thanks for all the support of career and to the women wearing XXL Manius jerseys, you know what’s up. 08-23-2018, 10:09 PMOhtaay Wrote: Since no one is asking the tough questions. How much egg non are you going to drink in celebration of a great career? None thanks for the question. Sigs by @FlappyGiraffe, @Steelhead77, @ToeDragon84, @slothfacekilla, @Wasty and other dude I need to find your name Lil' Manius Big Manius |
