Shooter McGavin has been in a depth role the past two seasons, but it looks like he'll be lean on to play top 6 minutes this season. The Calgary Dragons have seen some changing of the guard, as Randleman has been released, and Esa has gotten to the point where he is now a top 9 role player. Shooter has continued to put in time to improve everywhere, but he wants to be a reliable two-way player, so that he isn't a liability when he isn't scoring. It's about doing the little things right, and being in the right position to succeed. Shooter's #1 trait is his shot, so not only did he work on that in the off-season, but he also worked on his skating so that he can get to the areas he needs in order to utilize his blistering shot. Shooter is definitely on the incline of his career, and this year will be a big stepping stone for him. In order to handle the increased load, Shooter has also worked on endurance, since he'll be on the ice for about 5 minutes more per night, and that will include some late game scenarios. It might be a stretch goal, but Shooter would like a 20 goal season. and he'll have to work hard throughout the year to make that happen.
