TASK 1: (Written, 3 TPE)
Choose one team in the series and talk about the steps they took to make the finals. Was it a free agent signing, or an MVP player, or trades, etc. Must be 150 words. This is a unique one. The Jets. What did they do? Nothing, and that really everything they needed to do. After last season most would have guessed that they would go out and go after a high end free agent, or make some big blockbuster trade, but they didnt. They stayed the course, and here they are, again. Their veteran players are still producing and still leading this team. The roster today is very similar to that from 5 seasons ago. The Jets have been drafting well, and more importantly, retaining top end talent for 10+ seasons now. Never really blowing it up, or making knee jerk reactions. They have stayed the course and have reaped the rewards. This is a team that is consistently at the top of the league where other team who have had success have just been a flash in the pan. Either winning a cup and then falling in the standing the next season, or making one big push with a group of FAs. Not the Jets. TASK 3: (Written, 3 TPE) In 150 words or more write about the top highlight of your season. whether it be your first goal, your first hat trick, first shutout, clinching playoffs, getting a career high in something, etc. Must be hockey related. Vasily Horvat is not one to have to many highlight moments, so when thinking back to the end of another very close finish, only 1 thing really stands out, and its a minor one when you think of what others have accomplished. At the end of this season Horvat finished the season with 1781 hits in his SHL career. All of them while wearing a Renegades sweater. This leaves him only half way to the top as the SHL all time leader, but Horvat has never been concerned with the rest of the league. What this has done for him is place him as the #1 Renegade of all time in hits. The Renegades acquired Horvat in a low risk trade with the Jets back in S33 and not many people predicted his career would span as long as it has. Even if he hasn’t lead in any other category, this is the one where he is sure to have left a lasting legacy in the one franchise that gave him a shot. ![]() |
