Welcome ladies and Gentlemen to the second annual Militia Team Awards night here at the Salle Wilfred Laurier. We are so pleased to have you here tonight, I am your host Jimmy Kimmel



and we hope you have an enjoyable evening celebrating S44’s top Militia players.Now we've taken photos of the players walking in tonight and would like to show you just how our boys like to dress up for special events.
Let us begin with Charlie Schieck and his lovely lady,

Before we go any further we want to acknowledge the Militia players that have served this team during their time here with pride. They are now getting their chance with their respective parent clubs in the SHL and we are happy to had them during their time in the SMJHL. Join me in welcoming and thanking Forwards Jeff Brogen, Kevin Kazarian, and our beloved defenseman Charlie Schieck. We thank you for your devotion to the Militia during your time here. Thank you.

Now Moving on, S44 saw the Montreal Militia finish the highest they have in recent memory as they played their 50 game season to finish in 4th place. Their 1st round opponents were the Colorado Raptors, a team we have beaten with pleasure over the course of the last 3 seasons. However this season was a little different as Colorado went on to eliminate us in 5 games. That effectively ended our season on a very low note.

However the 50 game season gave some of our stars a very productive and memorable season, we are here to celebrate those achievements. Let us Begin.

The Jordan Nugent Hall Award is given to the most dedicated Player during the season. What defines the most dedicated player? Well, we define it as a player who goes above and beyond for their team. These players Are vocal in their Locker rooms and are dedicated to making those around them better. While the Militia did have players that did this, 3 of them did this better than most.



The votes are in, the envelop has been sealed and given to me. The winner of the S44 Jordan Nugent Hall Award is……



Next up is the Petr Klimek Award given to the player with the strongest abilities on both ends of the ice. These are the players that defend well and are a genuine threat in the offensive zone. They are trusted on the Penalty kill and expected to perform on the Power Play. The nominations for the Petr Klimek Award are,



We do have a winner, that winner is a member of the Montreal Militia. That winner is…..



The Quilha Agante Award is awarded to the Montreal Militias top Defenseman. This seasons race was a close one as at least 2 players were 4 points apart. They were at least 11 Points ahead of any other defensman on the team. They are solid in their own end of the ice and set plays up in the offensive zone. The nominations are….

The Christoph Klose Award is the award given to the top Forward on this team. Now this season has been interesting because we’ve seen the emergence of a young centre-man as he has played consistently all season long setting career highs in his second season scoring 19 goals and adding 22 assists for his first 41 point season., A young winger also setting his mark as a star in the making scoring 20 goals and adding 23 assists for 43 points, and a veteran winger once again showing his value in his final showing in the SMJHL scoring 36 points, 19 goals and 17 assists It has been a joy for fans to watch these 3 shine all season. The winner of the S44 Christoph Klose Award: for Top Forward is….




Now this next award is a special one. The winner of this award have gone on to great things in the SHL. Now while winning this award does not mean you will be the greatest player to play in the SHL, The line of players who have won it do add some pressure to succeed, that’s right we are talking about The Alonzo Garbanzo Award,  Awarded to a rookie Impact player who played well on the ice and had good LR presence.  This season the team has seen 6 rookies among their ranks, one being a backup goalie who has seen extremely limited action, 1 offensive defensman, and 4 forwards. While none broke the 10 goal plateau, 2 had more than 10 points and one of them almost got to 20. The Nominations The Alonzo Garbanzo Award are …..

The final three awards are all about a players value. One being the MVP chosen by the the peers, the team if you would. Another is an MVP chosen by the GM. The final one is a Playoff MVP also chosen by the GM. So let get to it shall we.

Kurtis Hunter Award is the team's Choice MVP. Without much description here, it is given to the MVP chosen by the players. Normally we have 3 Nominees but this season we added one more because all four have been absolutely incredible for this team. The Nominees are….

It has been an amazing night tonight, Before we end this Award show for your Montreal Militia, we want to bring out the Big winner tonight Mister Willy Mack!

“Willy just a couple of quick questions, one how are you feeling right now?”

“ Well Jimmy, I’m a little overwhelmed, It’s a lot to take in. We had an awesome season and we feel it was cut short by Colorado. So to have acknowledgement like this tonight for all the guys feel awesome”

“ Anyone you would like to thank right now?”

“ Yeah, for sure. Like the entire City of Montreal for supporting us and making us feel at home since day one of being here, The coaching staff, management for the work put into making this team better every season. Derek Bohne my brother from another mother, so happy we met on this team and get to play together, H’e an awesome individual. The entire MILITIA Roster, veterans, rookies, whoever, if you play for us I can’t thank you enough for being a part of this journey.”
