SegiFile Worker the king of burger Welcome to the post game show of the third week game between the Lethbridge Lions and the Anchorage Armada!
 1:5  Game #51 of the SMJHL season 45 brings us a game between two teams with very different starts into the seasons. The Lions come from their already third loss against the Anaheim Outlaws in this still young season. In their first 10 games, the Lions have a record of 2-8. Only the Hallifax Raiders and the defending champion, the St. Louis Scarecrows have so far lost against the expansion team. Totally different, the Anchorage Armada. They started their season with a 7-3 record and are coming into this game on a 5 game win streak, with their latest game being a close 3-2 win against the Colorado Raptors. The Armada currently shares first place in the league with the Detroit Falcons.
Period 1
The game starts good for the underdog. In their first shift of the game, Kalevi Karhunen of the Armada comes too late to stop Joln DuBolk legally and gets a 2 minute hooking penalty. After 34 seconds, the Lions can send their power play formation on the ice for the first time in this game. And they only need 40 seconds until Arsene Arsenich opens the score. The Lions showed a beautiful combination in their first power play. Monkey D. Luffy and Joln DuBolk each get an assist. In the following minutes, the Armada show, why they are one of the best teams in the league. Dean Colt III alone gets off 3 shots within 3 minutes. At 4:25, Xena wins an offensive face off for the Armada, gets the puck right back by Eeron Niemi and is able to score herself. The Armada needed just over 4 minutes to tie the game up. After this, the game is mostly equal with chances on both sides until the Armada can play their first power play. Junebug Langdon-Wray can't fully stop a shot of Dean Colt III and Leopold Lockhart scores on the rebound. After 19:01, the home team get their first lead of the game.

Again, the Lions get the better start into the period. Eva Likke Aparjode manages to dangerously deflect a shot by Roger Baston, but Peter Larson is able to make the save. This period is rather uneventful with slight advantages for the Lions until the 38th minute. Bust's shot is deflected by Olivier Cloutier but just misses the net. However, Ricardo Cotalay gets to the puck first and is able to get his team a two goal lead. This is Cotalay's first SMJHL career goal!

The Armada comes out of the locker room determined to not make this a close game. After 5 minutes of pressure by Anchorage, Dean Colt III and Mika Mayfield both miss the net with their shots, but the Lions are unable to clear the puck and Maxime Bouchard is able to score and make the game 4-1. Just 4 minutes later, the Armada manages a turn around and Eero Niemi makes it 5-1. The game is now definitely decided and the last 10 minutes pass rather uneventful.
