PGS S45: KEL vs HAL
#2

Comment One:

Glutes Media's Three Stars Of the Game

Note: These stars may be different from those determined by the sim.

First Star: Nickolas Klaus (KEL)
Klaus managed 1 game winning goal and 1 assist tonight, and gave two enormous hits while playing an astounding 23 minutes of ice time. Overall, Klaus gave an absolutely electrifying performance.

Second Star: Dick Clapper (KEL)
The rookie third-line winger surprised us again with a great performance, this time with 1 goal and 1 assist. It's only a matter of time before Clapper is given the chance to play on the second line.

Third Star: Dominic Montgomery (HAL)
Montgomery did everything in his power to keep the Raiders in this game, but it just wasn't meant to be. The star defenseman logged a heavy 23 minutes of ice time and scored 1 goal and 1 assist, both on the powerplay.

Comment Two:
Turning Point of the Game: Guy Zheng's Powerplay Goal
Spirits were down after the disheartening first period, with the Raiders scoring 2 goals to the Knights' 0. The team needed something to rally behind, and Guy Zheng gave them exactly that with a powerplay goal early in the second period. This was his first goal of the season, and it certainly wasn't pretty. Zheng managed to drive this one home after a mess of rebounds, blocks, and scrambling in front of the net, but it was just enough to raise the spirits of the Knights. After this goal, Kelowna quickly responded with another two goals in the second period and five straight goals without answer in total. Some might say that the Knights owe their victory to Zheng's messy heroics.

Comment Three:
Goalie of the Game: Vivian Leblanc (KEL)
I'm constantly surprised and amazed by Leblanc's abilities, and this game was no different. The SMJHL sophomore recorded a 0.919 save percentage, allowing only 3 goals on 37 shots. This was a shot-heavy game where defense was left as a second thought, but Leblanc stepped up and kept Kelowna in the game, even after conceding two early goals. The most impressive part of Leblanc's heroics this game was in the third period, where she allowed only one goal on a staggering 17 shots. The Knights definitely need to lend a helping hand to their starting goalie, but for now, Leblanc is quietly racking up a monster of a season and will hope to carry the Knights into a high standing.
