Hey, we're still in a top-6 playoff spot! Let's look at how we got here... And how we can get even better.

The goods:

- Colorado's first defensive line is a pretty interesting combination so far. Cassius Darrow and Anastasia O'Koivu have a combined 61 shot blocks on the season, with the two of them ranked 1st and 2nd on the team, in that regard.
- Ushakov's awesome. He's had a phenomenal season so far, currently sitting 2nd in SV% (0.898) and 3rd in GAA (2.64). It's been nice to have this kind of strong goaltending, since the starting cast of skaters is so loaded with rookies still trying to find their bearings.
- Physical play's going well - Lillie Jacobs and Jean-Pierre Gay have hit counts of 85 and 75, respectively, putting them both in the top 10 for the league. This is indicative of a greater pattern, as the team as a whole sits first in the league in hits/GP with 19.86, nearly 3 whole hits per game above league average.

That being said...

-Perhaps the rest of the defensive core should emulate their first line's physical play. The team is currently sitting in the bottom half of the league in shot blocks despite the first line's best efforts, with a total of 194 for the whole team.
-Oof, Faceoffs. The team sits near the bottom of the pack in FO%, which surely doesn't help us with regards to possession. The team currently has a 47.78% FO%, behind only Lethbridge for worst in the league.
-What in the fuck are we doing with our shooting? League average in shots/GP is 26.18, yet we sit near the bottom of the league with a fat 24.57. Yikes. It'd be nice if we could pick up the generalized offense rather than tryna let Selich do all the work, maybe with just a sheer greater volume of shots, we'd get some nice bounces.
-Let's maybe do something about our penalty numbers (whoops @ me). They're kind of rough. We have the third highest in the league, with 277 total.
