3 Stars of the Game

1 - Eero Niemi (ANC) - 1G, 1A, 2P, +2, 0PIM - Niemi was a force to be reckoned with tonight. He didn't have the time on ice of other players on his team, but he didn't need it. Shooting from everywhere as evidenced by his 6 shots and finally getting his goal towards the end of the game as it was already decided.

2 - Leopold Lockhart (ANC) - 1G, 0A, 1P, +2, 0PIM - Lockhart only had 1 shot and that's all he needed to score as he sat on the blueline and also ate some big minutes for his team. He was an anchor on the backend with his strong defensive play during the game.

3 - Ricardo Cotalay (ANC) - 1G, 0A, 1P, +2, 0PIM - Ricardo plays on the bottom D pairing, but still makes the most of his time when he steps on the ice. Taking shots, and hitting anything he saw, his strong play tonight is what earned him the 3rd star of the game.

TSN Turning Point

The turning point of this game was Ricardo Cotalays goal to put the Armada up 3 - 1 late in the 2nd period. The Lions could see themeselves getting into the game only being down by 1 after the first period. They battled hard and ended up coming up short as Cotalay let one rip and hit the back of the net. The Lions saw their hopes dwindle as the struggle to get wins this season and Ricardos goal just crushed any hopes of getting the W in this game. That's why this moment is where hte game took a turn, for the worst if your a Lions fan, and for the best for all the Alaskans.

Worst Player of the Game

Looking at the whole roster of the Lions, I really don't see one player that sticks out as the worst player without a doubt, so for that reason the worst player of the game is actually the whole Lethbridge Lions team. Besides scoring the first goal of the game, nothing seemed to work out or come together from that moment for the rest of the game. Passes were off, shots were wide, and defensive assignments missed. The Lions netminder, Junebug, was hung out to dry more then once and managed to bail her team out a few times. If not this could of easily been a 10-1 game instead. The Lions are an expansion team, and tonight, that was painfully obvious as they worked through their growing pains.
