Outlaw Spotlight: Hiro Fujikawa - Left Wing
On the inaugural game for the Anaheim Outlaws, the shining star was the recently appointed team captain Hiro Fujikawa. Fujikawa scored an assist on Keegan Angelo's first period goal and stayed at a respectable plus/minus of +1 for the game. Fujikawa lead the Outlaws in Time on Ice with 21 Minutes and 37 Seconds. When called into the faceoff circle, Fujikawa won 2 of 3 draws. Fujikawa is excelling in his new leadership role and leading by example. Sadly Hiro was unable to find the back of the net with 4 shots for the night. We hope to see Fujikawa excel in his new team and role.

Disappointing Start for Expansion Team:
With the recent revival of the Anaheim Outlaws, fans have been clambering to watch the once dead franchise rise from the ashes. The Outlaws would travel across the country to Detroit, Michigan for their first game with many fans in tow. New GM Dangles has inspired confidence in the fanbase with an impressive draft and rookie class hungry for victory. Sadly the outing left fans wanting as the Outlaws fell 2-5 against the Falcons. The team declined to comment on the loss and stated that they are only looking forward. What the season will bring for the Outlaws is still to be seen, but with a young core it is bound to be a roller-coaster.

Silver-Lined Saloon:
With their first loss of the season let's look at areas the Outlaws shined in their first outting. The Outlaws won 49 faceoffs to the Falcon's 37. Keeping control of the puck will help scoring increase across the board. Anaheim also had a higher blocked shots with 10. Preventing quality scoring chances will help the Outlaws keep a lock on the opponents offense. Goalie Mike Hunt made an impressive Debut stopping 29 shots. With a bit more control in his game, Hunt will definitely start stealing games from the opposition. The Outlaws also kept a close game in penalty minutes tying Detroit with 8. Once the team gets a feel for each other they will surely tighten up their play.
