Comment #1: Bohne Again (121 words)
With three assists in a 3-0 win there is no doubt that Derek Bohne is deserving of the first star of the game. He set up both of his line mates, Collin Gibbles and Jaco Petermen, as well as a third pair defenseman in Anthony Banthony. With his four shots Bohne also had the most shots in the game and could definitely have scored himself as well. Not a bad day at all for the German second line winger, who was selected 8th overall in the S45 SHL Draft by the Minnesota Chiefs. With a lot of playing time and important special team roles both on the Power Play and the Penalty Kill, this is someone to keep your eyes on.

Comment #2: Even Steven (104 words)
Despite the Anaheim Outlaws winning by 3-0 in the end, this was a really tight and even game from beginning to end. Tied in hits at 14 and plenty of penalty minutes for both teams, the Outlaws edged out the Montreal Militia with 42-40 in Faceoffs and 22-20 in shots. Maybe that's really what it takes to win some of these games, judging from tonight it sure looks that way. Nothing could really tell these teams apart besides some impressive individual performances, with Derek Bohne and Collin Gibbles stepping up to score some points, and not to forgot the spectacular shutout by Mike Hunt.

Comment #3: Goalie Battle (105 words)
Mike Hunt had gone 3-4-0 skating into this game and felt like a win was needed to not fall behind. It started off nervously as Olin O'Dowd of the Montreal Militia ran him over halfway through the first period and got called for goalie interference. For a minute or two he seemed hurt and it looked like Hunt was going to be substituted by backup goaltender Tibuk Soonika. However, he bounced back and managed to save 20 out of 20 shots. Opponent Petr Vrana looked strong in the net but was outsmarted by the Outlaws second line and recorded his first loss of the season.
