1. The night started strong for Detroit as after nearly seven minutes of play Halifax received a penalty for interference. After a  few shots blocked from the first power play unit, Detroit deployed their young second power play unit centered by Raino Kyllonen who managed to score a great goal from the crease, which was followed barely twenty seconds later by a 5-on-5 goal. While in the lead from the first period, Detroit managed to greater increase their advantage in the game by scoring two goals, both on the power play. Halifax will have to stay disciplined in the third period if they ever want to come back into this game.

2. The first period was rough on Mike McKorsy as after allowing three goals on only forteen shots within the first period, it didn't look well for him in the rest of the game. Indeed, fifty seconds after the break he let in another goal which removed him from the game in favor of veteran Justin Willis. The goaltender faced fifteen shots in the last forty minutes and managed to keep the Raiders in the game for a chance at a win in the third period but the Falcons' defensive corps didn't let them any opportunities to bring the game in overtime as they barely kept Cedric Robinson busy with three shots on goal.

3. This was yet another game with strong hits from both sides, including Halifax's Perry Morgan. He used his body with effectiveness tonight laying six great hits on the Falcons' offensive players. Coupled with two precise assists, Morgan played a strong game throughout the night that allowed Halifax to stay in the game until they were faced by a stronger team in the third period. However, the young defenseman known for taking pointless penalties stayed true to his name tonight with two penalties that cost the Raiders the game. Well on his way to being the player with the most penalty minutes by the end of the season, we hope he will change this side of his game to help his teammates outside of his great defensive abilities.
