Game Breakdown:

This game was an incredibly close one until the third period. The shots were 15-12 in favor of Kelowna going into the third and the score was even at 2-2, Justin Siddals scored the first goal of the game in the final 5 minutes of the first which was assisted on by Sanyi Kocsis and Nickolas Klaus. Zack Lalibirte scored for the Knights in the second to give them a 2-0 lead before Parker Smeb scored only 3 minutes later for the Raptors which was assisted by Knute Knurtsson. Finally in the second period Konstantin Voloshin scored a beauty at 11:51 assisted by Jacobs and Darrow. The game was over quickly in the third with early goals from Voloshin and Jacobs before Parker Smeb scored to end all hopes of a Kelowna comeback with the final score being 5-2 for the Raptors

Star Rookie:

Parker Smeb had an absolute monster game. Not only did he score 2 goals to go along with 3 shots but he also had a hit and managed to go 4/4 in face-offs even though he's a winger, for comparison his brother Daniel Smeb went 2/8 in face-offs and he's put much more time in practice than Parker has when it comes to working on his face-offs. So far this season it's pretty clear Parker has been the best Smeb and he leads all Smebs in Goals, Points, +/- and Hits. Games like Parker had today have started to become commonplace in the SMJHL.

Three Stars:

Star 1: Konstantin Voloshin had 2 goals to go along with one shotblock and was an absolutely nuisance to deal with for the Knights, Voloshin has shown flashes of brilliance all season but this was a huge game for him. After the game it came out that Voloshin was playing with an extra long stick all season and was suspended for the rest of the season and one play-off round.

Star 2: Lillie Jacobs had a goal and an assist to go along with 3 shots, 3 hits and one shotblock. There's an argument to be made that Jacobs could've been the number one star.

Star 3: Parker Smeb had another smebulous performance for the Raptors and ended the game with 2 goals, 3 shots and one hit. Parker likely could've been a ROTY contender had he been given the same ice-time as the other ROTY winners.
