PGS S45 Game 122: Anaheim vs Anchorage
#11

Comment 1: Outlaw Spotlight: Collin Gibbles - Right Wing
Collin Gibbles came up big tonight for Anaheim in their close loss to the Anchorage Armada. Posting his 5th goal of the season, Gibbles ended the night with a positive +/- of 1. Gibbles recent promotion to the first line seems to be a wise decision as he continued to incorporate his defensive game into play. Gibbles registered 3 hits in tonight's game and even laid his body on the line with 1 blocked shot. Surprisingly Gibbles accomplished this while being on the ice for under 15 minutes including limited special team play totaling barely over 1 minute. Gibbles did manage to stay out of the penalty box, a fate not shared by many of his teammates.

Comment 2: Mistakes Take Outlaws Out of Game
Tonight's showdown between the Anaheim Outlaws and Anchorage Armada ended in disappointment for the away team. The Outlaws lost 3-2 despite a last period rally by Gibbles and Bohne. The biggest factor in tonight's loss has to be special teams. The Outlaws received 7 penalties while the Armada only received 1. This wild gap in time shorthanded contributed to a less than stellar offense by Anaheim. Anaheim did manage to hold the Armada to only 1 powerplay goal out of 7 chances. This stellar defensive play made the game far from the blowout it seemed to be mounting towards. Anaheim also outhit their opponents 25 to 16 to keep pressure on the puckholder.
