With the announcement of the world junior roster for Canada comes a wave of excitement. Three Kelowna Knights have been named to the junior roster for Canada.

One player in particular, that we have been following through his rookie season with the Knights ,is ecstatic to be named to the roster. That player Liam Hutchinson. He is coming off a solid rookie campaign collecting 14 points in 50 games which may not be astonishing numbers, he filled a checking role on the Knights 3rd line. He brings some grit to the Canadian roster, and as he has been improving his shot; he has the chance to put some pucks in the net on Canada's run to gold.

Another Kelowna Knight that made the cut for the roster is Hutch's fellow line mate Barry Batsbak. Barry collected 8 goals, and 5 assists in 50 games. Batsbak is a speedy playmaking center, who was centering the Knights 3rd line. His role is yet to be determined by team Canada’s management, but likely he will be playing alongside Hutch as they had good chemistry in Kelowna. His defensive mind will certainly earn himself some key defensive zone situations to showcase his talent.

The last Knight, but not least, is Dick Clapper. Dick had a real good rookie season, and he lead all the Knights rookies in goals. He ended the season with 30 points, and 16 of those being goals. What is even more impressive is his 17% shooting. He really know how to clap some bombs. Though he touts himself as a two-way forward, this shooting percent solidified himself as a sniper, and he will be sure to snipe some from the right wing for Canada. He will be able to slot into Canada’s top 6 fairly easily.

It will be exciting to see these Knights showcase their talent against some of the other top junior players in the world.
