I agree that players should be approved within 24 hours in general. I had a long day on Thursday and while I saw that there have been new players created, I felt that there was no rush approving them, since the draft has just finished and they missed that event anyway. I didn't realize, Vancouver needed to sign another player asap, I apologize for that.

During the night, Luke pinged me on Discord to push for approval, which was then pretty much the first thing I did in the morning. Since I'm European and it was past 6AM for me, the date of allowing the approved players to sign was set on the 23rd and clearly marked this way. I realize that this lead to making the time between player creation and him allowing to sign with a team a bit longer than normal, but such things simply cannot be avoided some times.

And @"luketd", I honestly don't get why instead of messaging HO and asking if the date of allowed signing could be changed to an earlier point in time, Vancouver simply decided to go against a very clearly stated rule and take the player away for all the other teams that followed the rule. Had you come to me with the examples in your appeal and your pressing need to sign another player, I could've changed the date and informed the other GMs, so everyone would've been on the same page again.

But in the end, you knew, you weren't allowed to sign him at that point, but did it anyway. You didn't do your job correctly and then come here and blame my one time slacking for it.

First yes, it is ultimately my fault for not checking the time and I know that, but 
to counter this, it’s not like I knew I was breaking the rules, I legitminitly thought I was fine. And I shouldn’t need to come to HO saying I needed to sign more people if there has been people waiting over 24 hours to get approved. I’m not saying your solely responsible, but it’s all of HO to not let that happen. 

At the end I thought I could have signed him until nobody told me I couldn’t, it was not malicious like you are implying I’m just trying to get an active roster for my team.

And it’s not like I messaged him before getting approved, I waited my time and messaged him first thing that morning before I headed out to school, he asked a question and accepted at 12, because that’s the time I thought at 12.


My question is that if he got approved at 11:59 instead of 12:30 EST I would have been perfectly fine signing him at 12 that day. What makes 11:59 good But not 12:30 good only by what date they land on. I have shown HO interns before clearly breaking that rule, but all they say that it won’t happen again 

30 minutes before midnight on that night I even said I was waiting on getting people approved, it’s on my google doc for the appeal I even said to nobody when he asked on why we have 19 people, but they still weren’t approved until you did. 

I’m not trying to blame one person, that’s not my intent, my intent was trying to keep someone active on a roster. I tried to prove that interns before has been inconsistant in the past about confirming people, and that in all people shouldn’t be waiting 31 hours before being approved. But my appeal got declined and I accepted that, it’s just if people wanted to read how’ve i thought about it they could. 

I mean this is what nobody said to me “Alright so we're going to have to deny your appeal and void the signing. It was clearly stated that the 23rd was the day you could sign them. We will try to stay on top of getting people approved quicker, and make sure that we hire people better than “person”.”
