Monkey D. Luffy, Lethbridge Lions captain and Buffalo Stampede prospect has had a very interesting career so far. An offensive centerman, blessed with an innate ability to put the biscuit in the basket, Monkey came third in rookie scoring last season, albeit amongst a much worse team - the expansion Lethbridge Lions. Whilst all teams make the playoffs in the SMJHL, Monkey D. Luffy still dragged them there kicking and screaming, almost instantly becoming captain - showing incredible leadership both on and off the ice. It's clear in hindsight that Luffy was the steal of the S45 SMJHL Entry Draft, and after a year of incredible development and production, the Buffalo Stampede opted to take him 4th overall in the S46 SHL Entry Draft, making him the first first-gen player taken in the draft. The sky is the ceiling for the Lions captain, so don't be surprised if you see him pulling on a green and yellow jersey sooner rather than later.
