TSN TURNING POINT

Game 31 of the SMHJL S46 season brought together the Colorado Raptors and the Anaheim Outlaws. This game was a tight fought one until pretty much the 3rd period but one aspect stuck out in this game which could easily be determined the turning point in it. It was easily the special teams that made a vast difference in the game, as even though Colorado was able to net the first goal of the game on the man advantage, it was Anaheim who ultimately rode the momentum of their special teams to victory and they were able to go 3 for 4 on the Power Play and a 2 for 3 on the penalty kill. In the end its was just too much for the Raptors to handle and the Outlaws took the game easily 4 to 1.

The Highlights

The Raptors took and early lead on the Outlaws with a nice goal from Knute Knurtsson, who was able to fire one past Tibuk Soonika with a sensational effort on the rebound...

With just 30 second remaining in the 2nd period, Jaco Petermen was able to give the Outlaws the lead on the Power Play, as he ripped one top shelf...

The 3rd period was all Anaheim after they added 2 more goals, but it was all started with a  huge stop from Soonika...

MVP of the game

Max Rockatansky

Even though tonight's game didn't have the tight checking game many were expecting, and it leaned more on the special teams, one player did stand out among the rest and had him self an impressive night. Max Rockatansky found his name twice on the score sheet as he potted a goal and added 1 helper to go along with it. Rockatansky also added 4 shots on the night and was a weapon all night for the Outlaws. The biggest play he probably made all night was setting up Petermen for the game winning goal late in the 2nd period. It was the turning point that the Outlaws needed to run away with the rest of the game.
