All the things that went wrong for Montreal

If we look at the stats we see a lot of players on the Montreal roster that had a minus next to their name - in fact if you played for Montreal and didn't score or assist on a goal, it's almost guaranteed to have at least a -1 or sometimes even a -3. Rare exceptions excluded.
The goaltending didn't work very well either: Low Temp had a horrible night and was pulled after giving up goal number 4 in the second period. Why even wait that long? It gave the team a quick boost, because Montreal scored their second goal of the night just seconds after the goalie change, but honestly, at this point the ship had pretty much sailed. Not even their third goal at the very end of period 3 could help them turn the game around.
In terms of face-off wins and shots on goal the two teams were pretty even, but Montreal simply couldn't score. They only scored on one of their six power play chances. Then again, their penalty kill was perfect, otherwise this night could've been a lot worse.
