The Popular Calgary Cocktail Spot "Pr%f" has just announced plans to open their second location in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.  With Pr%f's Owner, Atlas Rush being selected 9th Overall by the Halifax Raiders in the most recent SMJHL Entry Draft this was a obvious next step for the Pr%f Franchise. Don't be surprised to find the Raiders team relaxing and enjoying their nights saddled up to the bar.  


Pr%f hopes to bring sophistication and education to the cocktail scene in Halifax. Promoting classic cocktails as well as education our guests the history behind them. They also specialize in hand crafted cocktails as the staff often competes in local and international cocktail competitions.  

When asked about his new location Rush was excited to add a local spin as the Halifax will be know for their "Oyster Luge." "Oyster Luge" is a curious pairing of oysters and Scotch whisky.



Rush then went on to explain the process and the reasoning behind it"

First, you must sip the brine from the oyster shell.

Second, you must sip the islay whisky.

Third, eat the oyster.

Fourth, rinse the oyster shell with the islay whisky.


Fifth, drink the islay whisky from the shell.

Rush also explained that islay whisky has a briney characteristic to it which pairs really well with the briney characteristics of the osyters.  They are both touched by the sea.

Most of these whisky have around 30-50 Peat per Million. Which is pretty standard for an Islay Scotch. One of their More popular selections is from Bruichladdich. Bruichladdich is a Islay Distillery that while it is located on Islay focuses on making unpeated whisky's. Because of that they decided to go the opposite spectrum and create the Octomore 8.3. As Compared to the common islay scotch coming in at 30-50 peat per million, Bruichladdich Octomore 8.3 comes in at a whopping 309 peat per million. Smell it you are overwhelmed with peat. While not for everyone islay scotch drinkers are in for a treat!
