The Montreal Militia could not get the series won in Anaheim for game six. This forced, a "winner take all" game seven. The Militia took control of the game early leading, two to one, after the first and second period. AOV had the support he needed. The Militia had a wide open net twice but could not convert, due to canceling out, defensive plays by the Outlaws. When it was all said and done, the Outlaws had accomplished the impossible, beating not only the Super Scarecrows but also the Mighty Militia for their First Four Star Cup in Franchise History.

The Faithful Fans of the Militia, gave a heartfelt applause to their team as they in turn, raised and tapped their sticks to the ones who pay their bills. Never Forget the Fans, was a mantra we kept hearing from the Montreal players and coaches alike. The only regret for the Militia was not to be able to get it done in game six or game seven. Zarley Zalapski, left a soundbite that stated, this game seven loss will haunt him for the rest of his life. I am sure many of the fans, players, staff, owners and other faithful feel the same way. In season 46 it was bad enough to lose a game seven to the Kelowna Knights but this loss was ten times the amount of pain. The Knights prevented the Militia from reaching the Four Star Cup Finals in season 46 but the Militia got sweet revenge in season 47. The Militia had to come back from down 0-2 in that series. Comeback they did, as they won the next four games on their way to a Four Star Cup Run to remember for the ages. Vancouver was no easy task but the Militia beat them 4-2 in the series as well. The Militia could not of been happier to face the 5th seeded Outlaws as they beat the Scarecrows in a game seven of their own to reach the Finals.

It came down to heart and determination for the Outlaws who had a "never say die" mentality, this tournament. They were able to come back from a two oh hole and beat the Scarecrows in game seven. They came back in the Montreal Series after a seven to four beat down in game one as well. They just would not die. The Militia would miss the net a total of 14 times with better than average scoring chances. The Outlaws would force overtime after overtime or come back from one or two goals down to win the game. In the end that is all that really matters. As time goes on, nobody will remember how the Militia dominated the series and should of won this game or that game. All that will be remembered is that the Outlaws won the Championship.

I would not doubt to see these two teams battle it out again next year. The four teams to watch out for would be St. Louis, Vancouver, Montreal and Anaheim. Not exactly in that order but these four teams have the young talent and management to be at the forefront for seasons to come. We here at Black Sparrow Press would like to congratulate the Anaheim Outlaws on their epic Four Star Cup Playoffs and hope they enjoy it while it lasts!
