St. Louis Scarecrows
S47 Team Awards

Well, another season has come and gone. The Scarecrows came into the season having won the past three league championships and had their eyes set on number four. They ended the regular season with the best record at 33-14-3 and had the most points with 69 (nice). After opening the playoffs with a 4-2 series win against the Falcons *cough* fuckdetroit *cough*, the crows lost a heartbreaking 7 game series against the Outlaws of Anaheim, ending any potential run at a 4-peat. While the Scarecrows are sure to return to glory and reclaim their throne next season, our focus tonight is to reflect on a few outstanding players who truly made this season special.

Michael Haan Award - Most Dedicated
Nicolaj Muller
50 GP | 21 G | 20 A | 31 P | +22 | 4 PIM | 17 H | 6 SB

The Michael Haan Award is given to the player deemed to be the most dedicated throughout the season. While the Crows roster is filled with nothing but dedicated players, Nicolaj rose above all the rest. This year was his second year in the SMJHL, but only his first full season as he played only 14 games in the first year. He finished third on the team in total points, and finished seventh in the league for goals scored. All this, while averaging under 13 minutes per game! As expected with those kinds of numbers, Nicolaj led the entire league in points per 20 minutes. Congratulations @esilverm!

Luke Riggs Award - Most Activity in the Locker Room
Nicolaj Muller

The Luke Riggs Award is given to the player who is the most active in the locker room. Nicolaj paired his strong performance on the ice this season with great activity in the Scarecrows locker room. He was always there for his teammates both on and off the ice, and you could always count on him being around when you needed him. Congrats again on a great season @esilverm!

The Vladmir Bodnar Award - Best Rookie Season
Mika Kandinsky
50 GP | 3 G | 8 A | 11 P | +3 | 18 PIM | 24 H | 4 SB

The Vladmir Bodnar is awarded to the rookie player that has the best season. The Scarecrows roster this season boasted a number of promising rookies, but Mika took an extra step this season. The strong depth down the middle for the Crows kept Mika down on the 4th line this season, yet he still managed to notch 11 points and lead all rookies on the team with his limited minutes. Additionally, he finished the season with a faceoff percentage above 50%, which is always nice to see from such a young player early in his career. Congratulations @Mika_Kandinsky!

Jermaine Tennyson Award - Best Goalie
Billy Sorokin
44 GP | 29 W | 11 L | 3 OTL | .880 S% | 2.96 GAA | 2 SO

The Jermaine Tennyson Award is given to the goaltender with the best performance over the course of the season. Billy was an easy choice for the Scarecrows here, as he came into the season as their starting goaltender for the second straight season. And for the second straight season, Billy led the league in wins, thus taking home his second Jermaine Tennyson Award. Congratulations @oddly_colored_beef!

Ondrej Ravchitikov Award - Best Defenseman
Basil Magnicotta
50 GP | 9 G | 26 A | 35 P | +13 | 29 PIM | 53 H | 66 SB

The Ondrej Ravchitikov Award is awarded to the best defenseman during the season. In what was a dominant season from the blueline, Basil takes home this year's award for th ebest defenseman. He had the most points on the team among fellow defenders and finished 6th in the league among defensemen. Not only did he contribute on the offensive end, but Basil continually put his body on the line for the benefit of his team and finished 5th in the league for blocked shots. Congratulations @Rancidbudgie!

Marian Potoczny Award - Best Two Way Forward
Gaspard Boone
43 GP | 15 G | 20 A | 35 P | +24 | 14 PIM | 21 H | 12 SB

The Marian Potoczny is awarded to the forward who exhibits the best two-way game. Gaspard made headlines just 7 games into the season when he was traded from Halifax to St. Louis, and he made an immediate impact upon arrival with his first game being against his former team, in which he notched a goal and an assist in a 5-2 Crows victory. Gaspard continued to produce all season on both ends of the ice and finished with a +24 net rating. He also proved to have a clutch gene and knew how to score goals when it counted the most, as a league leading 8 of his 15 goals were game winners. Congratulations @Im_A_Boonana!

Bradley Wingels Award - Best Forward
Nicolas Fleming
50 GP | 23 G | 23 A | 46 P | +15 | 22 PIM | 78 H | 12 SB

The Bradley Wingels Award goes to the overall best forward for the season. This year's winner was Nicolas Fleming, who managed to lead the team in points during the regular season. His point total was also good enough to put him 5th in the entire league! His physical play gave him a whopping 78 hits, which was good enough for 3rd on the team. Nicolas was a workhorse for the team all year long and logged the most minutes on the team among all other forwards. Congratulations @Nereus!

The Tigole Dizzy Augustus - Award of Excellence
Gordie Boomhover
50 GP | 18 G | 20 A | 38 P | +9 | 18 PIM | 38 H | 7 SB

The Tigole Dizzy Augustus is an award of overall excellence. Our recipient this year was none other than Gordie Boomhover. A natural winger, he found much of his playing time this season coming at the center position. While his numbers may not jump off the charts for the regular season, he still put up very strong numbers and contributed greatly to the Crows offense this season. He also was not afraid to get his hands dirty as he found himself getting into two fights, winning one and drawing in the other (but really, you should have seen the other guy's face!). Asking around the locker room, his teammates had nothing but high praise for him and made him a clear choice for this award of excellence. Congratulations @gordieboom!

Kanye Summers Award - Regular Season MVP
Michael Fox
50 GP | 10 G | 33 A | 43 P | +13 | 22 PIM | 73 H | 8 SB

The Kanye Summers Award is given to the team's regular season MVP. The MVP for this season was none other than the captain, Michael Fox. Michael was another player who came into the league as a natural winger, but found himself playing as the top line center for a dynasty. He contributed on both the powerplay and the penalty kill, proving to be the ultimate swiss army knife for the Crows. His 33 assists led the team and was the 2nd highest total in the entire league. This was Michael's final season in the SMJHL, as he has moved up to play with his SHL club in New Orleans. Best of luck in the big leagues, and congratulations @FuzzSHL!

Jarkko Kallestrom Award - Playoff MVP
Gordie Boomhover
13 GP | 9 G | 6 A | 15 | +7 | 0 PIM | 10 H | 0 SB

The Jarkko Kallestrom Award is awarded to the team's playoff MVP. Gordie continued his regular season excellence well into the playoffs, and managed to lead the league in goals scored during the playoffs despite only playing in 13 games. He was truly out of the world in the Crows attempt at a 4th straight title. This was also Gordie Boomhover's final season in the SMJHL, as he has moved up to play with his SHL club in New England. Best of luck to you as well, and congratulations @gordieboom!

With that, the award ceremony for S47 has concluded. Congratulations to all once again on a great season! Your efforts this season were admirable and did not go unnoticed. For those moving on to greener pastures, we wish you nothing but the best with your new teams. Don't forget about the little guys back in St. Louis! And for those who are returning for another season with the Crows, let's go reclaim that title in S48.
