Minnesota's surprising 13-9 start is backed by the strongest *top line* in the SHL in Eric Pelletier, Bobby Watson and Terrance Nova.
Ahem... Tampa Bay? The team is young but they’ve seemed to have found a winning combo (much to my surprise even being a part of it) in Andani (lol), Sawchuk and Lagerfield. Flacko isn’t a huge surprise, he’s been the team’s top scorer since S45 when he joined the then Seattle Riot and is on pace to do so again this season. Currently tied for 3rd in league scoring with 10-19-29. Sawchuk is definitely a surprise on the top line in his second season, but when he’s on pace to score nearly 30 goals in his sophomore season it’s hard not to play him in all situations. Currently tied for 2nd in goals with 14 and in a 9-way tie for 10th in league scoring with 14-11-25. And Andani.... I still can’t believe he’s playing this well after being a 3rd liner for his entire career. I’m still expecting regression, but I’m praying he keeps this up and emerges as a dark horse for the MVP. Either way, he seems to be missing piece Tampa needed to be a contender this season. Currently tied for 4th in league scoring and 2nd among defined Centers with 11-17-28. |
