The week five matchup featuring the Knights and Outlaws was an exciting back and forth game which featured a sizeable amount of offense scored by both teams. This mid-season clash is important for both teams, as the SMJHL is typically tight in terms of the point race, and both teams obviously want a much needed and desired two points. Ultimately, however, it would be the Knights who would come out on top victorious in this game.

First Period
The first period of the game was all Knights in terms of offense, as they were the only team to score a goal this period and they managed to secure two of them. The first of the Knights’ goals came quickly, fifty-three seconds to be exact, as Raquel Castillo Gutierrez scored his seventh goal of the season, giving the Knights to first and early lead of the game. The primary assist was awarded to Big Fudge, who earned his seventh assist on the season, while the secondary assist was given to Piotr Horvat, who earned his twelfth assist of the year. It didn’t take too much longer for the Knights to double their lead, however, as around five minutes later, Tah Puhcheese scored his fourth goal of the season, giving the Knights the early 2-0 lead. The primary assist was given to David Vent, who earned his impressive fourteenth assist of the campaign, while the other assist was given to Simon LeBlanc, who earned his eight assist of the season. The end of the period would come with an important 2-0 lead for the Knights who seemed to be in firm control early on.

Second Period
Out of all the periods of the game, this is the one that possessed the most offensive action, and truly made this a back and forth game between both teams. A little over a minute and a half into the period, the Outlaws cut the lead in half, when Corey Kennedy scored his sixth goal of the year to make the score only 2-1. The primary assist was given to Seemu Telanne, who earned his seventh assist, while Noah Tedla earned an impressive sixteenth assist of the season. Exactly four minutes later, the Outlaws would manage to tie the game at 2-2, when Lallo Selman scored his seventh goal of the season thanks to a direct assist from Max Rockatansky, his sixth assist of the year and the only assist awarded on the goal. A little less than six minutes later, the Outlaws actually managed to take their first lead of the game at 3-2, thanks to a goal from Gunnar Petrov, who scored his ninth of the goal of the season, with the sole assist going to Corey Kennedy, who earned a whopping eighteenth assist on the year and his second point of the game. However, this 3-2 lead for the Outlaws would not stand, as the Knights would end up re-taking a 4-3 lead on the power-play at around the 13th minute of the period thanks to a goal from Big Fudge, who would score his seventh goal of the season and his second point of the game. The two assists were awarded to Jack Icicle who earned his second of the season, while the other one went to Josef Novotny, earning his eleventh assist of the season. This would end the scoring for the period and the game entered the final period at a score of 3-3.

Third Period
The action in this period was the smallest compared to the other two, but the Knights goal scored a minute and a half into the period would be enough to ultimately give the Knights the victory. This goal scored by Aleksandr Scherbak, earning his sixth goal of the season, while the primary assist went to Gunnar Soderberg, who earned his ninth assist of the season. The secondary assist was ultimately granted to David Vent, who earned his 15th assist of the year. The buzzer would eventually ring for the final time and the Knights would win this game by a final score of 4-3.
