S48 PGS 117: Knights vs Outlaws

![]() Alexander Mann leveraged all of his 185 lbs on the ice tonight. Coming in with five hits (the most of anyone out on the ice tonight by a large margin), Mann targeted Jack Icicle for most of 1st period with an early hit on Soderberg, then shifted over to a solid hit on “Big Fudge” in the second. Capping off the night where he began, Soderberg was reunited with Mann’s mass in the third. Three out of his five hits resulted in a loose puck, and if it wasn’t for his two penalties, one for hooking and the other for high-sticking, Mann probably would have caused a few more loose pucks out on the ice. Handy Andy Award ![]() David Vent earned the “Handy Andy” award tonight with his two assists, two shots, and two points in for the game. Earning his two assists in the first and third period respectively, Vent came out to play, and play he did. More in a supporting role for tonight, Vent was able to steady himself against the barrage of checks that the outlaws sent for him, two of which happened within seconds of each other in the 10th minute of the second period. Along with his assists, Vent blocked a shot in the third, and layed out a couple shots during tonight’s festivities. Taking this into account Vent proved why he isn’t a burden out on the ice. Knight’s of the Round Table ![]() Knight’s fans should be thankful from one thing after tonight’s showing. That their special teams look to be in an alright place for the time being. The Knight’s penalty kill unit performed admirably out there on the ice. With both teams clocking in ten penalty minutes, it was the Knight’s successful 100% penalty kill that really saved them during such a close game. That’s not to diminish the Knight’s Power Play unit either. Scoring in the second, Big Fudge was able to score after Banthony’s Roughing (Minor) penalty. However, the ability to shut down Anaheim’s Power Play, or just cause enough chaos from having it gain enough momentum, shouldn’t be understated. Both team’s special teams saw enough action tonight, and both deserve our respect for the game they played. Code: Comment 1 115 words |
