Pre Game
Monty Montgomery, the rookie goaltender, for Halifax makes his SMJHL debut against the unbeaten Montreal Militia early in this S49 season. Going up against veteran and unbeaten Starter for Montreal, Mike Hunt, this should be a good game to watch!

First Period

Just 16 seconds into the game, Montgomery is tested and fails. Wyatt Ruschkoff sets up a great goal from Gaspard Boone and Herry Morris IV taps one home as the top line streaks in for an easy 3 on 2 in which they pick the Raiders defense apart. Not a great start that Mongomery was hoping for but let's see if he's able to rebound. A couple minutes later Morris IV streaks down the left wing and rips a high glove shot that finds the twine just under the bar and the Militia go up by 2, just under 7 minutes into the game. Late in the period, Zeno Miniti is called for the slash which puts Halifax on the Power Play for the second time in the game and period. In the final minute of play, Taisei-Tiikeri Wawazat wires one home from the top of the circle after getting a pass from Haley Knight while Cody picks up the secondary assist. The Raiders are only down 1 headed into the second while the shots are almost even at 9-8 for Montreal.

Second Period

The game calms down a bit during the first half of the second but finally someone breaks through the defense. The Raiders and Atlas Rush, with a pass from Oliver Klozoff, knot things up and we have ourselves a battle! However a quick trip to the box for Halifax proves deadly as Gaspard Boone makes them pay wiring home a PowerPlay goal to put Montreal on top. Late in the period, Haley Knight makes a beautiful move and tucks the puck into the open net to tie the game up once more. Oddly enough Halifax has the momentum of the period as they out shot the Militia 10-4 in this period.

Third Period

Just like the first period, Montreal takes advantage of a rookie goaltender and gets to him early. The passing of Tom Fiddler and Phineas Gold makes the defense look silly before Joseph Weston slings one in low blocker on the young goalie. Montreal leads by one with 18 minutes to play. About half way through the period, the Legend himself Gaspard Boone scores again to make it his third point of the game increasing the lead to 2. Despite being an even period on shots, Hunt stands tall and Montreal walks away with yet another victory in this young season.

Three Stars
1 - Gaspard Boone (MTL)
2 - Herry Morris IV (MTL)
3 - Joseph Weston (MTL)
