Before I made the SHL I was on the Chicago Med film crew. This job was great for me as the pay was amazing and I got to meet a lot of cool people. I was tasked with driving a van that included driving around crew members, background actors, and actors. Some actors were nice and friendly while others were not. The job had long hours and while I had family members who had this job for their whole career, I didn’t want to work 15 or more hours per day. I was able to meet some hockey greats who came to see one of the filming days and I got to talking with them and I learned some important lessons that day on how to play my position and how to hold my self to high standards. I still think to this day that those old time SHL greats helped shape my SHL career.
