For anyone that cares, it's not going to be too hard to find when goals are scored and list the scorer/who assisted them from the text output of the play by play. The issue is going things like hits, shots, PIMs, etc.

It always says "The new score is X - X" along with the players who assisted the goal, but as you say in the video there are tons of different ways that it says a player shot the puck or passed it or laid a hit. The good news is that we can start with the important stuff for box scores and work our way toward the extra stuff as time goes on.
