TAMPA BAY BARRACUDA So Starting out with #16 we have the Tampa Bay Barracuda, with 5 prospects in their system right now. So to start out they have 2 players that they recently drafted in S52 and 3 players that they drafted back in S50 as well. Their system is depleted as they recently called up a couple players from S49 and S48 as well as their core amount of players are from S46-S49. Rankings: Very Good: Wiad - Ulrik Bergstrom Getting Drafted 8th OA in this recent draft Tampa Bay Drafted Ulrik Bergstrom, a defenseman from sweden, Ulrik got drafted to Anchorage in S51 SMJHL draft. In his rookie season he put up pretty good numbers for a defenseman, getting 1 goal and 17 assists, with 43 hits and 53 shots blocked. He was important for Anchorage’s Penalty Kill, but their PK was struggling so this season he should be taking the next step defensively for his SMJHL career and is looking like a good defensive prospect to look at for Tampa Bay as some of their defenseman are regressing and will need to be replaced sooner rather than later. On the TPE side Wiad is also at 278 TPE and is #23 in the S52 class, so if he continues and improves then he will be important for Tampa Bay going forward. Rankle - James Ronlain Getting Drafted 20th OA in the S50 draft, Tampa Bay drafted Jame Ronlain. Ronlain is a winger from the United States, being on the Scarecrows he is now a staple on their offense, leading the team in points with 26 goals and 26 assists, providing plenty of offense for them, so we will have to see how he does this season to see how he progresses there. Looking at the forward core of the Tampa Bay, with a lot of loses in their forward core, there is a hole for Ronlain to come in and fill the hole next season when he gets 1 more developmental season in the juniors. With 625 TPE he is #21st in the S50 class, which is right around where he got drafted, so he is living up to expectations right now. PremierBromanov - Tom Fiddler Getting Drafted as well in S50, Tom Fiddler was drafted 24th in the S50 draft to Buffalo, getting traded to Tampa Bay this past offseason FIddler will be filling in holes as well on the forwards, probably for Noble as he left in this recent offseason. He currently plays for Carolina in his now 4th season in the league, he has been crucial for last season and the seasons before. During the S51 season, he was 2nd for the team in points, getting 11 goals and 38 assists, he continues to get better each season, becoming a very solid two-way forward in the juniors that should be easy to translate to the SHL at least defensively and hopefully the offense comes soon. TPE wise he is at 581 TPE which is #24 in the S50 class, which is right where he was drafted, so just like Ronlain he is right where he should be for his class, and should be effective for Tampa Bay when he gets called up. Fitted2106 - Michael Fitted Getting Drafted too in S50, Fitted was drafted 39th overall to Tampa Bay, Fitted is a Center from Finland, getting drafted to Carolina in the S49 draft, just like Fiddler he is important to Carolinas success, as he has been important depth for Carolina. In S51 he recorded 9 goals and 22 assists, and in S50 he recorded 6 goals and 15 assists. Hopefully this season he will record more points and that should translate to the SHL. If not then Fitted will be a good depth piece for Tampa Bay that will be a good 3rd or 2nd line player in the future. He is at 567 TPE which is good for #25th for the S50 class, which is exceeding his draft stock which is great for Tampa Bay who might have found a gem in Fitted in the later rounds. Bust: jmanatl06 James Manzi Getting drafted in the 3rd round draft in the recent draft, manzi doesnt look like a good prospect that can translate to the SHL easily. If he does every get up to the SHL it will be in a depth role, but the skill sets arent there. *Note: literally anyone can make it to the SHL if they earn enough and can get onto any line, but this is for fun/ determining the health of each prospect pool on how strong everyone is compared to eachothers draft class + activity + if they are a recreate their past players might hamper them. |
