PGS S52 Game 6: Kelowna Knights vs Newfoundland Berserkers

What a game between these two teams, and what a third period for Kelowna as they fought their way back to snatch an overtime win.
After allowing two power play goals in the 2nd period to fumble away their 2-1 lead, Kelowna found themselves at a goal and shot disadvantage entering the 3rd period. Newfoundland were simply looking like the better team. Then, as if a switch was flipped, the Knights put the squeeze on Newfoundland, with a ridiculous 12 shot advantage over a 3rd period that saw them tie the game up. In fact, if not for the Berserkers picking up a goal on one of their four total shots for the period, Kelowna would have won this one in regulation. Still, after their 3rd period performance, they were unable to capitalize in overtime. It seemed they re-discovered their talents for the shootout, however, as Rocco Berni was able to give them the 1-0 shootout victory. (160) ![]() . |
