Secondary Scoring roars to life for ANA
With Anaheim sputtering out of the game with only 2 wins in the first 5 games, Anaheim needed everyone to step up. Anaheim’s secondary scoring answered the call and put on a show. Bale got the show started in the first period with a seeing eye shot from the right circle that threaded through multiple defenders and past Steven Vassallo.  Rhys Pritchard took over in the second period with two goals in quick succession, giving ANA a 3-1 lead. Bale capped off the night with his second of the season, and of the game in the third period giving Anaheim the win.
 
Firsts of Many
With their poor start to the season by Anaheim, it wasn’t a surprise to see multiple players score their firsts of the season. Both Bale and Rhys Pritchard scored their first and second goals of the season, while John Forfeit and rookies Yompy Stearf, Rikard Hammarberg registered their first assists. For Anaheim to be successful in the season, contributions from the rookies as well as from the bottom six will be vital. Anaheim hopes this game will help get the monkeys off the backs of these players and propel them into the win column if they want to have a shot at the championship this year.

The three stars of the game was no surprise. Bale was the first star of the game with 2 goals on 5 shots in only 13 minutes of ice time and minimal powerplay time. Rhys Pritchard took the second star of the game with 2 goals on 4 shots and 16 minutes of ice time, while being defensively sound on the penalty kill.  Nicholas Owens, first pairing defenseman for Anaheim took the third star of the game with an assist, 4 hits and 2 shot blocks in 21 minutes of ice time, with equal time on the PP and PK.
