Graphic Graders Anaheim Co-GM / Graphics Grader Code: Code: Sound the alarms again - Hamilton is taking home that repeat trophy Code:
For. Anything can happen Toronto may have just got hot at the right time. I know the same thing happened in Kelowna last season where we got hot at the right time and road it all the way to the finals. I've also said i'm against way too many of these so i'll be interested to see if Toronto will actually get past Buffalo in the wild card round. Code: Toronto's magical (?) run will continue and see them upset Buffalo in the wild card round Code:
For. How can Cameron Carter II not win the DAR award? It's his for the taking! He's been gunning for it all season long! While players with a significantly lower IQ were gunning for things like MVP, Cameron 'THE DAR' Carter was aiming for the most prestigious 3 letter award in sports. Honestly if he doesn't get it I don't even know what i'm doing in this life anymore. You almost can't spell Cameron Carter without 'D' 'A' 'R'! Little known fact, his middle name may or may not be David. Code: An every-season staple: Cameron Carter II will take home his second DAR AWARD #JODAN Code:
Against. I think the best way to decide a regular season tiebreaker is ROW. This is regulation wins + overtime wins (not shootout) wins. This is to give an advantage to teams who win during actual gameplay as opposed those who play for the shootout to have a specialist win it for them. Goal differential isn't a bad way to decide a victor, but I think using ROW is a better way to determine the better team.Code: Goal differential should be the regular season tiebreaker instead of Regulation+Overtime Wins (no bias here at all) Code:
Against. Maybe I'm missing someone but after looking at stats I don't know who would be MVP favorite for S52. Brogen, Winter and Lagerfield all had impressive seasons filling the net. While Schieck and McCarthy led the way for assists this season with 42 and 41 respectively. Phillip Winter did end up with the most points in the league but only 1 over SFP center, Steven Moyer. Code: This is the most wide-open MVP race in the past 5 seasons Code:
Against. I've only been in the league a few seasons now but I am smart enough to know this is anyone's game. 1/8 isn't great odds especially when you need to get past the Pride and the Specters who have both been great this season. I don't think former league MVP Tony Pepperoni and former McBride Trophy winner from a season ago has it in them to carry this team to the finals. Code: Edmonton will make the finals for the 3rd time in 4 seasons Code:
For. 69 team points and 69 blocked shots by Charlie Schieck it's the nicest season I think I've ever witnessed in all of sports. You thought Wayne Gretzky's 81-82 season with 92 goals and 212 points was going to be #1 here but wow, you thought wrong. Have you ever seen such planning by an organization to hit that 69 mark by not even in points but to do it in such a fearless category like blocked shots?! I'm out of breath just typing this madness.Code: With 69 points and team leader Charlie Schieck finishing the season with 69 blocked shots, San Francisco just finished the nicest season in SHL history Code:
Against. I like Chris Partridge out of San Francisco more for top goalie. Partridge is right behind Larsen with a .919 save percentage and leads the league with a 2.45 GAA. While Larsen does have more shutouts than Partridge, Partridge has shown to be even more consistent on a game by game basis. Both of these goaltenders are well deserving of this award. Looking forward to see who brings this home. Code: Peter Larson should be taking home the McBride award for the league's top goalie Code:
Against. The top 7 teams of a 10 team league is separated by a mere 4 points over the course of 50 games played! Clearly it's anyone's game at this point. We've seen numerous 'upsets' and back and forth series between teams there is no chance to say any of these teams has the edge up on one another. Detroit is hot right now ending with a 7-2-1 record going into the playoffs but what have we learned from seasons past? Kelowna for example, looking back at S51, can come out of the basement and surprise even the hottest of teams. Code: The Carolina Kraken will return to glory and hoist the Four Star Cup Code: Code: Kaarlo Kekkonen is a runaway choice for SMJHL MVP |
