Hello and welcome to the introduction to this game recap, it feels awkward to just dive in without an introduction so here we are.


First Period


The game began like any other, with a face-off in, get this, the center of the rink. Classic. Face-off was won by Tom Fiddler, who, according to reports, is hung.

The puck was dumped into the Outlaws zone by Ricky Bobby, but quickly retrieved by Anaheim. After some smart passes through the neutral zone, the Outlaws enter the Kraken zone in attack mode, but a pass is intercepted by unpronounceable defenseman Zbigniew Pokrywka, who passes to Ricky Bobby, breaking away from the pack to get the games first shot on goal, which is easily stopped and swallowed up.

A few seconds later, an errant elbow by Alex Petrenko sees the Kraken on a power play. The kraken have havent spent considerable time last series in the box, so now is a good chance to reverse those woes. The first minute of the power play is uneventful from the Kraken side of things, as the Outlaw limit the Kraken to exactly...let me see if my math is correct here... zero shots.

Finally, towards the end of the power play, after a dump in from the Outlaws, Michael Fitted, legend, retrieves the puck. A quick past to Captain Joseph Weston. He loses the puck, but Fitted is right there and carries it up ice. The forward line of Wachter, Fitted, and Weston is cruising up ice. Fitted makes a brilliant move to draw two defenders, giving Weston room for a shot and the games first Goal!

Later, the Outlaw are again called for a penalty, this time Ursin Zimmermann for tripping. Malicious? You be the judge. But the Outlaw successfully kill of the penalty, but not after a lot of shot attempts which unfortunately just aren't on target.

Midway through the first, Kenny Creller, who has 20 PIMs in 8 games, gets his 3rd goal of the playoffs. The top 6 is finally pulling their weight this off season. Shortly after the Kraken are called for delay of game, but successfully kill it off after an impressive bout by the outlaws.

Finally, with just over 2 minutes remaining in the first, the Outlaw score their first goal of the series. An errant pass by Michael Fitted results in a swift attack by Bale, who makes a shot which goes wide, but Kevin Robinson picks up the free pucks and lets 'er rip. Good goal! The Outlaw are in this game.

Just a minute later, there's a faceoff in the Kraken zone. Anaheim wins the face-off, a pass to C.T. Carragher and a quick shot to tie the game.

2-2 at the end of the first, Despite a very wide edge in shots by the Kraken (17 to 7). Strom Chamberlain stands tall to keep the Outlaw in this game.

Second Period

The second period was more even, with 8 shots on goal apiece. The Kraken and Outlaw trade shots, the kraken kill a penalty, but 6 minutes into the second, the Outlaw take the lead.

A pass from Tom Fiddler, intercepted by Rikard Hammarberg, who is intercepted by Wyatt Ruschkoff, who is intercepted by Ziggy Tambo. Ziggy passes it over the blue line to Rikard Hammarberg. Rikard makes a slick shot towards the net, but Ziggy has made his way to the front of the net and beautifully tips it, but just wide. Ziggy picks it back up, skates wide to draw Hroch out and snipes it top corns for his first of the post-season.

But just 30 seconds later, the Kraken are just ticked right off about the goal. Tom Fiddler, hung, wins a face-off in the Anaheim zone, dishes it to Wachter who slaps the rubber disc straight into the ole' white-netting-behind-the-goalie. The game is tied.

Third Period

The Anaheim Outlaw open up the third period with a quick goal. After a handful of shots from Anaheim, Mike Hroch swallows up the pick and a face-off ensues in the Kraken end. Ivan Maximus wins the face-off over Tom Fiddler. Kofix, Carragher, Petrenko, and Maximus cycle the puck out of the reach of the Caroline defense. Finally, Kofix finds the perfect shot and the puck sails wide...of Mike Hroch, directly into the net. The Outlaw take the lead for the second time.

3 minutes in, Wilhelm Schumacher takes a penalty for holding, but honestly didn't they deserve it?

After 2 minutes the Outlaw have registered zero shots on net, but a few attempts have sailed wide. The kraken are now back on track to tie the game. Unfortunately, the Outlaw have them hemmed in. Ziggy gets back to back shots blocked by Michael Lee. Finally, the Kraken bust out with their first line, but a single shot by Creller is stopped and held.

Then, another penalty by the Kraken, this time by Velveteen Dream for slashing. Once again, probably asking for it. The Outlaw make a handful of shots, but Mike Hroch keeps the Kraken competitive. After an uneventful power play, the Kraken can go back of the offensive. A shot by Ricky Bobby, a shot by Alexander Wachter.

But again, the Kraken are sat for a penalty, for Holding a stick. Again I ask you, didn't they deserve it?

The Kraken successfully, again, kill off the penalty but the constant chasing of the puck is wearing them down. They get a few more shots in before finally pulling Mike Hroch, but no shots follow that event.
