1 - Winnipeg Jets - Magnus Liljeström – roastpuff
The expected number one draft pick heading into the draft by most, Winnipeg got a solid player here in Magnus Liljeström who already has a big bank account and is the SMJHL intern as a result making their blue line in the future which is already one of their strengths despite several regressing players even more scary. The more interesting discussion regarding this pick in my opinion is whether Magnus Liljeström was worth whoever the Jets could’ve got at 4th overall and with the future 1st they gave up, but only time will tell I suppose.

2 - Tampa Bay Barracuda - Ambacas Cuddles - cptrella
Another defenseman goes off the board to the Tampa Bay Barracuda in Ambacas Cuddles, this time hailing from the legendary Land of Gumba known for some of their top tier SHL talent, another expected pick by most I believe. I think cptrella was the tpe leader for the draft heading into it and probably still is so that along with his large bank account and solid first player make him a pretty safe and good pick, while plenty recreates do burnout or do worse on their 2nd player there seems to be no sign of that so far with Cuddles.

3 - Buffalo Stampede - Steve Harrington – NeonLime
Another expected pick heading into the based on mocks, I feel like I’ll be saying this for a while but there actually were more surprises in this draft than I expected which we’ll get to with the next pick. Anyways Steves a pretty great pick, super active, graphic grader makes great sigs, already thunderdomes people, love what I’ve seen from him so far in Newfoundland and I’m sad that Buffalo gets more great players, also most importantly regarding Steve I just love looking at the gif in his profile pic for some reason.

4 - Texas Renegades - Edward Williams – Aephino
The first center to go in the draft as the Texas Renegades add to their already insanely deep prospect pool and continued to do so throughout this draft. Honestly don’t really have anything interesting to say about this pick another kind of expected one, good pick, high in tpe, big bank account, cool dude and makes sense with the Texas Detroit connection.

5 - Los Angeles Panthers - Jimmy Wagner - Sve7en
While this pick was expected heading into the draft based on rumours it actually did kind of surprise me and was the first one to do so in the top 5. Not because there’s anything wrong Jimmy Wagner went in a range that makes sense as one of the highest tpe forwards in his class, good bank account, done lots of media and seen him post around a ton even flaming some gms. But I was surprised that it was Los Angeles out of all teams who not just picked him but supposedly traded up with Buffalo to get him.

6 - West Kendall Platoon - Ethan Duncan – Mastersheep
Mastersheep is a great username and his player will probably be a great player as I have only heard good things about him out of Kelowna. The second center to go in the draft also near the top of the tpe leaderboard for forwards, the only perhaps downside compared to some of the other prospects that have gone is his low bank compared to them but he’s done plenty of media and in the end your bank doesn’t really matter as long as you have enough when you need it to train and buy equipment (like I don’t at this time or last season rip).

7 - Buffalo Stampede - Jaska Seppälä – Zombiewolf
Perhaps the most interesting or controversial pick of the whole draft depending on how you want to look at it after Zombie made it known he basically only really wants to play for Buffalo and the question became which of buffalos many picks would they pick him with. I could probably write a thousand words on this pick alone and my thoughts on not just this pick but others like it where a player asks all or even certain teams not to pick him or even get into the whole recreates hiding tpe thing or players who ignore certain teams pms, or the players who don’t say anything and just leave in FA after 3 years in juniors or the players asking for a trade before playing a single game for their team and how they’re all related and I probably should since I need the money but I’m also already sick of writing media this is exhausting and this pick has already boosted my word count and made this sentence way too long perhaps even record breaking long; so I’ll just take the easy way out and not cause a shitstorm/controversy if anyone even reads this terrible article for some reason and leave it at zombies a cool dude and a great player in the draft and Buffalo got another great player as they usually do.

8 - Toronto North Stars - Jack Kanoff - jeffie43
Another defenseman and another great name gone in the draft this time to the Toronto North Stars. As with most drafts there’s usually less elite D on the board compared to forwards, there was actually quite a lot of good D in this draft but with two going very early at 1st and 2nd overall Toronto grabs another one who also has ton of tpe doing very well in milestones and even getting some recruitment tpe on top. Like Mastersheep bank account could be a concern long term but also like Mastersheep he’s done some media already. I also hear he enjoys spending private time with my teammate Ryan Shepard, who knows what those two do together, maybe that’s how he can make some extra money.

9 - Calgary Dragons - Bradley Barkov - MarlinManiac4
A large run on defenseman is seen here at this point in the draft with the previous pick, this one and a couple following as the small group of potential elite D are all taken up swiftly. Basically, everything I wrote above for Jack Kanoff can be said here too minus maybe the low bank account part and the Ryan Shepard part but who knows maybe Shepard gets around.

10 - Manhattan Rage - Jukka Timonen - Smalinowski7
The 3rd defenseman gone in a row, one that depending on trades and earlier picks could’ve potentially gone much higher. Speaking of trades Manhattan much like the Winnipeg trade talked about earlier for 1st overall acquired this pick from Edmonton for 16th overall and a future 1st. Jukkas great with a large bank account, high tpe and very cool articles with stats and graphs, this along with the many good things I’ve heard about him and seen in Newfoundland explain why Manhattan would move up 6 spots and give a future first just for him; just like the Winnipeg trade only time will tell if it was worth it however.

11 - Chicago Syndicate - Ryuuji Minamino – Nhamlet
Easily the best pick in the draft and it’s not even close, I also obviously have no bias regarding this pick or this team and everything in this section is 100 percent correct. Compared to most picks in the draft this one was perhaps another surprise for many mainly because of his potentially lower tpe compared to other forwards going into the draft. But at the end of the day a couple TPE difference at the draft doesn’t matter as much compared to the longevity required to be a good SHL player and for Chicago Nhamlet ticked of many of those with his great articles, discord activity, updater job, oiler hating and most importantly his player is Japanese.

12 - Tampa Bay Barracuda - Valentín Kalashnikov - suavemente
With the exclusion of Chicago’s pick Tampa continues the spree of Defense being picked with Valentin Kalashnikov, a big Russian shutdown defenseman from Russia. Solid bank and TPE, don’t really know much about him other than he’s apparently a sharks fan, but heard good things.

13 - New Orleans Specters - Erben Kasius – Paq
A recreate falling down far in the draft despite having a big bank and high tpe as many recreates do each for various reasons. For Paq I’d expect its because his previous player wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad either being quite famous for being traded all over the place and playing for multiple teams. Paq could easily end up being one of the biggest steals of the draft as many overlooked recreates sometimes can be especially in New Orleans one of the first homes for his previous player

14 - Winnipeg Jets - Reid Sutherland - reid_sutherland
Winnipeg with their 2nd pick of the draft pick another player from the Detroit Falcons but this time a forward in Reid Sutherland. Another great player who could’ve gone much higher or maybe even lower as all these players in this draft and most reddit drafts are extremely talented with high banks and TPE and would most likely be even top 3 in normal drafts.

15 - San Francisco Pride - Sven Svenson – LordBirdman
Fresh off their challenge cup defeat in the finals I’m sure the San Francisco Pride were thrilled to see this guy on the board, and quickly picked up the Swedish forward Sven Svenson. Another casualty of a stacked draft Lordbirdman fell a bit despite also having a great bank account and TPE and even doing a PBP which many users would refuse to ever touch.

16 - Edmonton Blizzard - William Hartmann – thecanadiancanuck
It says a lot about the talent of this draft that someone like Wiliam Hartmann can fall all the way down to the last pick of the first round. A great pick up for the Edmonton Blizzard as they not only acquire a great player but also another 1st for the future at the cost of moving down just 6 spots.

17 - Tampa Bay Barracuda - Frederick Wanesly - Mediocre_Fred
Every time I see this name I just picture that the name is actually Fred Weasley, so I’ll probably just call him that from now on. I’m not sure which of Fred and George Weasley I preferred since it’s been a while but both of those two Weasleys were awesome, so it doesn’t really matter. Hopefully for Tampa Bay this pick turns out to be more than just resulting in a Mediocre Fred, ha ha ha… moving on.

18 - Buffalo Stampede - Zoltan Topalo – Rangerjase
Buffalo gets another pretty good player, their third of the draft, so nothing new really, and just at the cost of moving down 2 spots and 30th overall I think, we’ll see if I get to 30th overall in this article probably not since I only have 1 hour and 20 minutes left to post this for double media but who knows, anyways Zoltan Topalo is a pretty sick name in my opinion.

19 - Texas Renegades  - Burlok Sulfurgod – leviadan
Another cool name, there’s a lot of cool names in this draft. Texas with their 2nd pick in the draft once again adding to their deep prospect pool with yet another falcon. I know several teams were quite high on Burlok and considering offering a 1st just to try and get this pick to draft him which makes sense since just like most of these players in any other draft Burlok would’ve gone much higher.

20 - Minnesota Chiefs - Rocco Berni – Blues
Perhaps the biggest faller in the draft although the next pick is also up there when it comes to their TPE related to draft position. Another recreate with a large bank account and huge tpe up their competing for the top of their class, but due to perhaps being more quiet around the site and one of their recent players being a bust I think they fell quite a bit, before that however I remember Griffin Simons being a superstar in the league, so perhaps Minnesota got lucky as so far Berni seems to be trending strongly in the Simons direction

21 - Texas Renegades  - Eric Hudson – EricNSU
As I teased in the previous paragraph about biggest fallers in the draft Eric Hudson may very well also be that and be one of the biggest steals as he’s up there with the best in TPE and has been quite active on the site. I’m not grading team’s drafts but if I did Texas would definitely be at the top (behind Chicago of course) as they’ve made some great picks and have a bright future if all their prospects stay active, with the team and keep developing

22 - New England Wolfpack - Ethan Price – Zomp
The Wolfpacks first pick of the draft, a team that may very well be the most talented in the league now and in the future, not that SimonT seems to care about that, luckily for them FHM might care. I could talk about things like Price’s bank, tpe, name the usual boring stuff I say about the other prospects, but I heard a rumour that Ethan Price or Zomp plays league and may be Plat, if that’s the case I hope he gives his gm in Anaheim Nykonax some much needed lessons on how to play the game

23 - Tampa Bay Barracuda - Jerry Huuveri - Jerppu
I only have 1 hour left to finish this article so at this point my research is getting pretty bad, not that it was good to begin with, but I admit when I saw this name I had no idea who this was and didn’t recognize the name compared to the others which I did. It turns our he’s a goalie so that’s probably why I didn’t recognize him. I’m not sure if Tampa Bay has a replacement yet for Benjamin Blue who’s getting old but if they don’t then this pick makes a lot of sense and hopefully they’ve found their goalie of the future as Jerppu gets the honor of being the first goalie taken in the draft

24 - Toronto North Stars - Taylor Johansson – Tayjay
Another Anaheim player gone, and not to Chicago or Minnesota, I’d say shocking but Toronto actually has some former Anaheim players too. Taylor Johansson already has a SMJHL cup something that I don’t even have after 7 years so he must be a god, I imagine anyone able to win a cup under the management of Nykonax must basically be the next Ron Mexico

25 - Calgary Dragons - Chris de Siren - Chrisda19
Chris de Siren, another cool name, a line I haven’t used in a while, he’s from Anchorage I believe so I expect him to be an epic memer and to start running around yelling JODAN and be part of the CC2 fan club, perhaps he can convert some Dragons to become believers of the JODAN, he should stay away from Chico Smeb though when he does go to Calgary, that guy’s nothing but trouble.

26 - West Kendall Platoon - Ziggy Tambo – Chirpchirp
Another Anaheim player, really nothing more needs to be said then that, clearly Chicago should’ve traded all their current Anaheim Scrubs like Lallo Selman, Martin Westbrook and Nick Connoly for a bunch of 2nd round picks and picked these next generation of Anaheim players who also won a cup, since the formers SMJHL success clearly isn’t carrying over to the SHL.

27 - Manhattan Rage - Hiroshi Ohira – Finetales
A Japanese player which also automatically makes him an amazing pick, compared to the SMJHL draft he fell quite a bit since I believe he went around 3rd overall in the SMJHL. Most of this fall I believe can be attributed to his hiatus for a week before returning to activity in SHL, if he keeps up his activity from earlier in the season Manhattan got a great pick and I fully expect him to beat up Chicago one day in a game 7 series which Chicago one point had a 2 game lead in.

28-Hamilton Steelhawks-Rikard Hammarberg-jtam
Hammarberg sounds like a super hype name to yell any time he makes a big play whether it be a hit, shot, goal, pass or even just steps on the ice. Unfortunately since he’s in my division I don’t think i’ll be very happy to hear his name yelled often as it will probably be when he crushes me and passes the puck to aaronwilson, actually I guess since it’s Hamilton he’d just shoot the puck instead of passing it

29 - Toronto North Stars - Toki Wartooth - Pickle Juice
Pickle Juice, what a name I remember watching some show when I was like 5 about pickle juice and preserving cucumbers, maybe it was magic school bus actually, great show, good times. Anyways I remember the first Toki Wartooth I played with him he even has another player right though although he might’ve gone inactive in Nathan Explosion, is this legal, can I just name my next player Ron Mexico or something.

30 - Los Angeles Panthers - Danny White – Insayne
I’ve complimented most of the names in this draft so far since it’s always cool the creativity of many SHL members in the league when it comes to names, but this name is kind of boring in my opinion, I googled it and theres a Danny White that’s a former football player coach commentator etc, not sure if it’s named after him or what, maybe it’s Insaynes actual name or someones actual name in which case I take it back Danny White is a great name. Anyways I’d just like to thank Insayne for winning me many fantasy seasons with Dani Forsberg and wish him the best with his new player.

31 - Minnesota Chiefs - Separa Borro – Lyezech
Separa Boro, now this is a great name, Anaheims goalie I believe, Anaheim does produce some great goalies with Tibuk, Strom and now potentially Separa, an Anaheim player going to Minnesota makes sense, although they do already have Tegeranko, (I think I butchered this but I’m in a rush here and don’t want to look it up, my bad Kluster) but it can’t hurt to have two good goalies maybe even be needed in this new FHM world.

32 - Manhattan Rage - Santtu Rasanen – Kenitohmernara
I recognize the username as a recreate, not sure how many or who his previous players were but with pretty good tpe could be a late steal for the rage and be one of those recreates who randomly pop off as many do on one of their players, unless you’re HFFO.

33 - Hamilton Steelhawks - Kriss Darzins – lilstifler
A Latvian, that’s always hype even though they were the bane of my existence mostly when I was a gm in the SMJHL many years ago beating up on my team, not as many around these days though. I hear he wants to be a goal scorer and score many big goals, well he went to the right team under Hamiltons tutelage I’m sure he’ll become a great scorer.

34 - Minnesota Chiefs - Ben van Dijk – Ben
You know for a pretty common and normal name Ben is pretty cool, I don’t know if it was this draft or another or the SMJHL or maybe even another league but there was a Ben McBen somewhere now that is a high quality name. I know basically nothing about Ben Van Dijk as will probably be the case with many of these players now but he’s a defenseman and it’s hard to find good D late in the draft, but maybe Minnesota got that here with Ben.

35- Hamilton Steelhawks - A Jobin-Awesomecakes
An interesting name here, Detroits goalie I believe, even their starter I think as a rookie and they got 1st place in the regular season which is quite impressive. While Geezus Kryst is still a very elite goalie he’s getting old, perhaps Hamilton got their future goalie here.

36- Hamilton Steelhawks - (Clean) Andrei Kostitsyn- (Clean) Andrei Kostitsyn
I know I said Ryuuji was the greatest pick in the draft and that Texas had a really good draft, but this pick might actually be the best if anything it probably is. (Clean) Andrei Kostitsyn is going to be a superstar in this league for years and Hamilton actually had a pretty great draft considering they mostly only had late picks.

37 - Los Angeles Panthers - Michael Lee – Marlo
Another recreate and a very old user I believe even older than me, originally Backlund unless I’m mistaken and then Marlo Stanfield. Wasty played with Backlund on the Chiefs before becoming LA GM I think, perhaps there will be a connection there and Marlo will be a huge steal.

38 – FORFEIT
Pretty solid pick here been a while since I’ve seen one of these, usually its in the first round and related to a Minnesota pick, Buffalo would’ve had this pick though if things went right and although its hard to think of a better pick than Forfeit I’m sure Buffalo would’ve found a way, or maybe they would’ve turned the pick into a first somehow.

39 - New England Wolfpack - Lucas Hellquist – Nightrobin
Another cool name and username, a sharks fan if I’ve heard correctly and actually pretty active and high in TPE, its insane that I’ve been rambling here for hours and we actually still have good active players that may become stars being picked here.

40 - San Francisco Pride - Trevor Johnson – AeonSandwich
Aeonsandwich, now that’s an interesting idea, there’s also quite a few Johnsons around with the most recent being Darnell and Gabriel I believe, both have pretty good players though, maybe this Johnson will be another one

42 - Edmonton Blizzard - Carlos Brown - CB2212
A potential steal maybe, I remember seeing this guy in Colorado discord for a bit during the draft, pretty low in TPE but theres plenty of time to turn it around.

43 - Buffalo Stampede - Chris Cerullo – ChrisFromRMNB
This guy went 1st overall in the SMJHL draft didn’t he, I wonder if it’s the biggest drop ever from a smjhl draft to a SHL draft, probably not there must be someone who just went inactive after being drafted 1st overall in the smjhl, either way its Buffalo so I’m sure he’ll return or something and become a great player who then gets traded for 3 1sts since Buffalo won’t have room for him or something.

44-Hamilton Steelhawks - Lligma Broomstick- Lligma Broomstick
Lligma Broomstick, quite the name, even has a sig that says SKATE fast EAT ass, will get along great with Hugh Jazz on Hamilton probably, he was on today and did some stuff so maybe he’ll be a steal, imagine a line of HAMMARBERG, HUGH JAZZ and LLIGMA BROOMSTICK, what a trio, I don’t even know if their all forwards but I’d be terrified going up against that.

45 - Toronto North Stars - Braden Lowrie -Tigerfan895
Another player that I saw doing some stuff around the site today, has a bit more tpe than most people in this range too, I also only have 20 minutes left to do this article, what a tragedy.

46 - Buffalo Stampede – forfeited
This time buffalo going with the forfeited instead of just the FORFEIT, quite impressive, this was the pick that was forfeited since BUF played an all scoring 4th line I believe, that was interesting.

47 - San Francisco Pride - Patric Twist – Patty
I remember when we picked a Patey in Chicago also on Newfoundland or then Lethbridge, so far this Patty looks to be heading the same direction as Patey, must be JNH’s fault, I saw Patty playing league though so if he’s any good I also encourage him to be a kind Samaritan and help Nykonax out.

49 - TBB - Erik Johansson - woelker11
The second Johansson, maybe it’s spelt differently, I would scroll up in this article to check but that would take away valuable minutes of quality typing. Woelker11, reminds me of white walkers and Wyatt Wolker great name, tragedy what happened to the show.

51 - Buffalo Stampede - Alex Reyer – iObscurity
When I saw this username I thought it was IObese who I’ve seen in many drafts even having my player be in one with him. I wonder if IObese’s current player is active, guy was quite the source of Latvian controversy.

52 - Minnesota Chiefs - Bryce Turner – Pandakazi
Panda’s are cool, panda is also a great song, is this guy a recreate, probably not but I feel like I recognize the name. Bryce Turner also reminds me of one of 701s recreates not sure why probably cause it was named Bryce but maybe it wasn’t who knows

54 - Edmonton Blizzard - Blake Feaux – AlexF
AlexF another source of great controversy with the whole smjhl Anaheim tampering drama, he also had quite a lot of TPE but fell super far, I guess he was the next jiggly or something I don’t know didn’t really read any of his posts or know what he did to lead to falling this fall.

55 - Buffalo Stampede - Alexander Roach – Faelax
Buffalo picks another Alex, interesting

56 - Minnesota Chiefs - Yompy Strearf – ham
A cool name and a tasty username

61- Minnesota Chiefs - Rinako Yukikami – KanakoTheSquirrel
A Japanese player who tragically went active due to the laziness of IHF commissioner Nykonax smh, cool name too

69 - New England Wolfpack - Frans Eller – Ace
Ace gets the honor of picking himself 69th overall, I wonder how many gm players have gone 69th overall I know velvs did in Akira Ren but that was also natural and didn’t have to trade for the pick so a far superior pick

72 - Toronto North Stars - Axel Meszaros - ml002
Seems like a bum of a pick needs some training from the great CC2 or something if he wants to become something.
