Registered Posting Freak Kelowna Knights at Detroit Flacons
Tonight's clash between the Detroit Falcons and the Kelowna Knights was the second meeting between the two teams. Detroit tops the Eastern and all of the SMJHL with a record of 9-0-1 while the Knights boast a respectable 6-4-1 record. The two starters in this tilt were Knights Cillian Kavanagh and Falcons A.Jobin. Taking a look at the action in the first.....
First Period Summary Things start off pretty smooth for the two teams until about the 12th minute mark where the falcons appear to start taking control of this game by out shooting the Knight 10-3. The first goal of the game comes off the stick of Luke McMaster at 13:23 and the lone assist goes to Frederick Wanesly. Detroit continues relentlessly, as we see Kavanagh stand tall making save after save until 18:26 when he is beaten a second time, this time by Frederick Wanesly with a nice feed from Jack kanoff. The shots after one were 18 to 4 in favor of Detroit who came to play tonight...... Second Period Summary Knights fans, you might wanna look away at this point, although showing a sign of life as forward Andrey Barbashev II scores and makes 3-1 Detroit, the Falcons are just too strong on this night as goals by Edward Williams at 4:33, Justin Womack at 9:59 and just to make matters worst, right before the 2nd period buzzer Detroit strikes again with their 6th goal of the game by Cassidy L Hotskey and chasing out of the game the Knights goaltender. Enter Brayden Ennis to the storm, the Knights out matched and outshot by a total of 37 to 12 at the end of the second! Third Period Summary And we see here the last goal of the contest, but the only goal to beat the young goalie Ennis on the 6th shot he's faced, scored by Guy O"Shea at 15:13 to close out this lopsided affair. This hyped up game between two top teams proved to be a lackluster affair as the Falcons trounced with ease the Kelowna Knights 7 to 1 and out shot them by a considerable amount of 47 to 18! Here were the stars of the game...... 3 Stars
The leader in ice time for the Knights was defenseman Alex Ranch with just over 24 minutes of play, a -1 and 2 blocked shots. But it was LW Eriksson who had a decent game picking up 5 hits although finishing the night off with a -3, not only in that effect! Over on the winning side, the first star of the game O'Shea had one great night, along with his 3 points he also had the most time played with over 22 minutes and teed up 6 shots on goal. And a notable mention to Edward Williams who not only thre his weight around pivking up a game high 8 hits, but also chipped in offensively with a goal. The league leader in points has not slowed down one bit.... Final Score 1 and 7 |
