Detroit’s Dominance Continues
With only having faced a single loss on the season, the Detroit Falcons were looking to continue to dominate in their next game against the Kelowna Knights. The Falcons certainly answered as the team was able to continue their offensive scoring abilities by notching 7 goals on the Knights. This offensive powerhouse was led by right winger Guy O’Shea this time around as he got himself 1 goal and 2 assists being a plus 3 for the game. However, the more important goal came from leading scorer Edward Williams early in the second. After two quick goals, the game had a score of 3-1. However, it was Williams’ goal a minute and a half after the Knights had just scored that killed any momentum the Knights had. The Falcons’ leading scorer Edward Williams was able to get it into the Knights zone on a clear-cut breakaway and snapped a quick wrister that beat Kavanagh! We can’t really blame the goaltender on that one as it was the defense that caused the break. Regardless, 3 more goals from the Falcons followed and with 7 goals on 47 shots, it certainly looked like the Falcons showed no signs of slowing down.

Brightside in the Knights
Although the Knights were dominated by the Falcons in this game, there were certainly players that played well for them regardless such as Rocco Berni and Glyifi Eriksson. However, we’d like to focus on fourth line center Morgan Forestier who really impressed us. With a total of about 12 minutes played, Forestier had himself 3 blocked shots and 1 takeaway. Also, in the faceoff circle Forestier won 7 of 12 for a faceoff percentage of 58.3%. Forestier certainly got himself in the game early as just over a minute into the game, Forestier dove in front of a shot by dominant defenseman Guy O’Shea to block one of his hard shots. Although the game did not end the way that the Knights would have wanted, players like Forestier really shined bright and made themselves noticed.
