S53 PGS Game 1- St. Louis vs Newfoundland
#5

First Star
Berserkers RD Jukka Timonen - The first star was awarded to Jukka Timonen after an outstanding performance which saw him score the first goal of the game near the fifteen minute mark, this appeared to get under the skin of the Scarecrows as they were a player down on the ice most of the rest of the period after a series of penalties. Timonen also had a solid defensive game leading to a positive +/- and spending an incredible 29 minutes on the ice over the course of the game. Timonen's performance really helped to kick start the Berserkers offense and he is a major part of why his team came away with a win in this one.

Second Star
Scarecrows RW Mega Tron - In this game we saw the second star go to the Right Wing out of St. Louis, Mega Tron - while he didn't have a goal of his own in the game, Tron was still able to earn himself a point on a clean assist early in the second period. Though this wasn't enough to keep the Scarecrows in the game, Mega Tron can't be held too responsible for this loss with his impressive performance on the ice. One has to wonder what other collapse in the St. Louis side lead to the convincing defeat, or whether perhaps Newfoundland were simply the better team on the day.

Third Star
Berserkers C Lucifer Morningstar - Earning the third and final star of the game, Lucifer Morningstar is another name that didn't show up in the goals column of the scoresheet but still earned a point from a slick assist on Timonen's early goal, and was a major impact player in other areas. Morningstar had a good amount of faceoff wins, and was a key to the Berserkers maintaining posession throughout the game - goals aren't everything on an individual's statsheet and Morningstar was out to prove that in this game. Helping his team come away with a big win against a deflated St. Louis side helps him on his way to earning these accolades in the game.

An integral faceoff-winner and assistant to Timonen's first goal in the first period, Morningstar was key in maintaining possession and setting up plays from deep within Newfoundland's defensive zone.
